It's been nearly 20 years since one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time was released—The Holiday. The heartwarming romcom tells the story of two women who swap houses for the festive period in the hope of turning their lives around.
Much of the drama is taken up by the four main characters played by Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Jude Law, however, there are two other characters who steal the show—Jude Law's character Graham's daughters Sophie and Olivia.
While Cameron, Kate, Jude and Jack have continued being on our screens for the last two decades, what happened to the two young actresses who played Sophie and Olivia? Here's everything you need to know about where they are now.
Where are the kids from The Holiday now?
The eldest of Graham's on-screen daughters Sophie was played by Miffy Englefield. Miffy is now 26 years old and a mother herself to a daughter named Frankie. She's remained largely out of the spotlight since the film came out apart from a few parts in TV dramas.
She now shares some of her life on TikTok, often she shows videos of her daughter and her partner, with day in the life videos and cooking videos.
Over the years she's been open about her role in the movie, originally telling Vulture in 2019 about her experience on the film and how close she was to the cast.
"Honestly, they [Cameron, Jude, Jack and Kate] were incredible. To have these two, you know, 6-year-olds, running around and being overly excited and asking loads of questions—they showed no stress at all. They had all the time for us in the world. Jude used to pop his head round the door when we were doing our schooling and things like that," she said.
She revealed since the film wrapped, the last time she saw any of the cast was at the premiere soon after. She also revealed she hasn't spoken to her on-screen sister Emma Pritchard who played Olivia since.
Emma has also stayed out of the spotlight since filming The Holiday. She did, however, do an interview with The Argus last year, where she revealed her own sister auditioned for the part of her older sister Sophie, but didn't get it.
Emma, now also 26, works in a café in East Worthing, England, and tries to avoid watching the film because "it feels very strange looking at my six-year-old self. I sometimes think to myself, how did that become this? It was just wild—really exciting.”
During her interview she revealed Jude and Cameron gave the pair matching denim jackets embroidered with their names as wraps gifts, and honestly that is too cute. Emma has also kept her original script from the movie.
The pair have both revealed parts of the film that they improvised. For Emma she shared the burp she does in the tent scene was accidental but kept in because "the directors found it funny, so they kept it in.”
And Miffy improvised the line, "It’s so funny. You’ll fall off your chair it’s so funny," when Jude Law does his iconic Mr. Napkin Head scene.
And yes, Miffy reveals her friends do still enact the scene every year.
