Spring has sprung! The sun is shining, and our seasonal blues feel like a distant memory—at least until those inevitable April showers roll in. Which is exactly why a dependable, hard-working jacket is essential. We’re still in that in-between season, where warm, sunny moments can disappear just as quickly as they arrive. Our outfits have to keep up, often spanning multiple seasons in a single day. Enter the wardrobe staple of wide-leg jeans. They're flattering, go with almost everything, and are smart enough for the office, yet relaxed enough for weekend hangs. Call them the MVP of denim, if you will.

But how to style them transeasonally, I hear you ask? That's where the fashion insiders come in. I've cherry-picked the best street-style looks, featuring the trending jacket styles of the season, that will make getting dressed in the morning ultra-easy. Bookmark this and thank me later.

A textured bomber

Bomber jackets are a classic for a reason. Easy to throw on over almost anything, they are a versatile item that pairs perfectly with jeans. Textures—like fringe, weaving, and beading—dominated the SS26 runways, from the likes of Chanel to Bottega Veneta. Combine the two, and you've got the perfect spring jacket!

A quilted satin jacket

paris, france march 06: a guest is seen wearing an olive green quilted floral patterned jacket, a white lace trimmed asymmetrical slip top over blue denim wide leg trousers with yellow side stripes, black leather boots, while carrying a pink monogrammed louis vuitton handbag and a black smartphone during day five of paris fashion week womenswear fall/winter 2026/2027 on march 06, 2026 in paris, france. Remember what I said about textures? This one has also infused pops of color with the button-down jacket and Louis Vuitton handbag, and the lace slip dress over her wide-leg jeans (extra style points for tucking them into her boots) is just genius.

An oversized denim jacket

paris, france march 04: a guest wears black sunglasses, a dark blue denim jacket, a light blue cotton striped button down shirt, matching dark blue denim wide leg jeans, a navy blue / brown / white striped print pattern tie, a dark red leather embossed pattern handbag from miu miu, dark red varnished leather pointed pumps heels shoes, outside acne studios, during paris fashion week womenswear fall/winter 2026/2027, on march 04, 2026 in paris, france (photo by edward berthelot/getty images)pinterest

Double denim will never not be in style. Whether you match your shades like this wearer, or opt for a clash, it's a look that consistently delivers. Smarten it up with a shirt and tie underneath, or keep it casual with a graphic tee.

A colorful leather jacket

munich, germany march 20: amanda mühle is seen wearing a light yellow zip front jacket with a relaxed fit and pointed collar from fred perry; a cobalt blue cotton button up shirt with a classic collar from polo ralph lauren; beige wide leg trousers with a high rise waist from cos; dark brown leather loafers with a rounded toe from zara; a structured brown leather boston bag with top handles, contrast stitching and gold tone hardware from songmont; rectangular black kaia sunglasses with tinted lenses from vehla; multiple gold rings from pilgrim; chunky gold hoop earrings from sézane; her long brown hair is worn loose and softly waved on march 20, 2026 in munich, germany. The Harrington has re-entered the chat! This might be the ultimate spring jacket— lightweight, bright and majorly taps into the preppy aesthetic. Color-blocking was another huge trend on the SS26 runways, so take notes from this outfit’s lemon yellow and cobalt blue combination, finished off with cream denim and brown leather accessories.

A classic trench

berlin, germany march 11: sina anjulie is seen wearing a longline camel brown suede „santara“ coat with a notch lapel collar, a straight silhouette, a buttoned front and flap pockets from stand studio; a black fine knit v neck sweater worn over a white crew neck cotton t shirt; light blue wide leg denim jeans with a low rise waist and a turned up cuff hem from cos; emerald green patent leather mules with a square toe, silver pierced toe ring detail and a low profile sole from tory burch; a large black soft leather „haricot“ tote bag with a gathered body, flap closure top and a long shoulder straps from low classic; rectangular black acetate „rb4068“ sunglasses with a slim frame and dark lenses from ray ban; a chunky silver cocktail ring; her brown hair is worn in a sleek bun on march 11, 2026 in berlin, germany. Shorter or cropped jackets work well with wide-leg jeans because they show off the silhouette of the denim, but don't rule out longer styles. A trench coat is not only practical for April showers, but it adds a smart polish to relaxed jeans.

A boxy blazer

paris, france march 04: a guest wears long black hair, black sunglasses, a black wool double breasted blazer, a white cotton striped button down shirt, blue faded denim wide leg jeans, a black leather bag, black shiny leather loafers shoes, outside dries van noten, during paris fashion week womenswear fall/winter 2026/2027, on march 04, 2026 in paris, france (photo by edward berthelot/getty images)pinterest

Oversized tailoring is still a huge trend, and pairing a smart blazer with more casual denim is the perfect high-low mix. Broader shoulders balance out the wide bottom half.

A cropped funnel neck jacket

paris, france march 07: gili biegun wears a dark olive suede jacket with a high stand collar and puffed shoulders, cream wide leg trousers, dark aviator sunglasses, a white leather shoulder bag, a large silver pendant necklace, and white pointed toe shoes during day six of paris fashion week womenswear fall/winter 2026/2027 on march 07, 2026 in paris, france. If there's one jacket style to invest in at the moment, it's the funnel neck. A perfect pairing with wide-leg denim, it gives a full-on '70s boho aesthetic. Extra style points for the cord jewelry (another SS26 trend).

A statement fur

munich, germany march 20: marlies pia pfeifhofer is seen wearing a black crystal embellished jacket with an all over rhinestone detail, fluffy mongolian faux fur trim at the collar and cuffs, and a fitted silhouette from charlotte simone; a white classic crewneck ribbed cotton t shirt from armed angels; light blue wide leg denim jeans with a low rise waist, a relaxed oversized drape, rolled up cuffs and folded button closing from agolde; black patent leather cap toe ballet flats with a delicate interlocking cc logo detail and a small bow in the front from chanel; a black small structured leather „osmo“ shoulder bag in a compact silhouette with contrasting seams from poléne; small oval black acetate sunglasses with a slim frame and dark lenses from corlin; tiny silver hoop earrings from monica vinader; her blonde hair is worn straight and loose in a sleek bob with a center part on march 20, 2026 in munich, germany. Faux fur for spring? Yes, really. Ideal for colder evenings, furry textures add a touch of glamour to slouchy denim. Just add a plain white tee underneath, and you're good to go.
