• Ace Greene admitted he questioned Nic and Olandria’s relationship on a podcast after feeling unsupported by Nic regarding his own Love Island USA journey last summer.
  • Ace revealed his comments damaged his friendships with both of them, acknowledging he unintentionally opened the door for Olandria to receive online hate.
  • Though Ace and the couple resolved the conflict that same week, the public comments left lasting damage to their relationships, with Nic and Olandria yet to publicly respond to his recent interview walking back his previous comments.

It’s been nearly a year since Ace Greene, Nic Vansteenberghe, and Olandria Carthen were all in the Love Island USA villa last summer, and now, Ace is owning up and walking back his previous comments about the reality show’s runners-up.

During a recent appearance on the Life Without the Game podcast, Ace opened up about the real reason he insinuated Nic and Olandria weren’t an actual couple in the first place. He also admitted that his relationship with them hasn’t been the same since.

“With the whole Nicolandria situation, when I spoke on that…that’s me speaking from hurt,” Ace admitted during the pod’s latest episode, admitting that Nic had “hurt [his] feelings” when he didn’t publicly back him up and say that he and his ex, Chelley Bissainthe, deserved to make the final four of Love Island season 7 last summer.

“Bro, he just hurt my feelings. You know, I feel like he had my back, and even though I praised Olandria in the same interview with Speedy, I still also spoke on her relationship. So, it opened up the door for her to get hated on in general, and that wasn’t even my intent of the whole thing,” Ace shared.

He continued, “I hurt myself; I hurt them in the process….We talked about it that same week, and we smoothed things over and are cool, but it still put a damage on all of our relationship. And that’s something that hurts to this day, because these are people who I was friends with in the villa for a while.”

In case you missed it, Ace remained silent when Speedy Morgan asked if Nic and Olandria were the real deal after he exited the villa last summer. At the time, he claimed he didn’t respect Nic because he would act differently in front of the cameras and behind the scenes.

He also claimed that Olandria had been “adamant” about explaining her type to him and suggested that Nic didn’t fit the bill.

Olandria seemingly responded to his shady comments in a since-deleted social media post after she spoke to students at Tuskegee University in Alabama, writing, “Chile anyway…my event at Tuskegee went amazing yesterday.”

Nic, on the other hand, had rated his day a 4/10 when a fan on Snapchat asked how he was doing in the wake of Ace’s comments.

The pair has yet to respond to Ace’s recent public apology.
