Nicolandria—aka Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen—caught fans by surprise when they paired up on Love Island season 7 last summer. While their followers love catching up with them on social media since the show (and Nic’s top-tier levels of yearning for Ola) aired, they seemingly opted out of appearing on Peacock’s spin-off, Love Island: Beyond the Villa, alongside other islanders from their season. That is…until Nic pulled up to simply gush about Olandria and give everyone an update on their sweet relationship.
On the most recent episode of Beyond the Villa, he opened up about the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship during a convo with TJ Palma, who’s also navigating an LDR with Iris Kendall.
“She’s in Houston, so it’s only two-and-a-half hours away, but at the same time, it’s like…she is never in Houston and I’m never in Florida,” Nic, who resides in Jacksonville, said of his and Olandria’s busy schedules since becoming Love Island’s runners-up in the villa.
“You guys are so busy and everything. How do you make time for each other?” TJ asked, to which Nic replied, “It’s rough. I mean, I’m in a club probably Wednesday through Saturday, and she’s 99 percent doing a shoot throughout the week or whatever, but honestly, our schedules have been aligning up pretty nicely.”
The DJ added, “She, coincidentally, was in L.A. yesterday, so we got dinner, chilled, kicked it. I mean, [we] just pray that it aligns.”
Of course, the Nicolandria hive found Nic’s update equal parts endearing and iconic.
“I’m cryinggg he literally just came to say he’s rich, happy, and in a loving relationship💀,” one fan wrote in the show’s comments section, while another echoed their sentiment, adding, “Nic showed up to say he & his girl are still together, booked & busy & tired of parasocial weirdos. I love that for him.”
And though season 2 of Beyond the Villa reportedly filmed from early November 2025 to January 2026, Nicolandria seems to still be going strong.
On Monday, May 4, Nic slammed Vulture for insinuating that his romance with Olandria is nothing more than a publicity stunt in a recent reality TV feature.
ICYMI, the report reads, “By the middle of the season, the fandom had coalesced around pairing him with co-star Olandria Carthen. Never mind that they didn’t seem to be more than friendly colleagues at first; Vansteenberghe leaned into the role of ‘person in love with Olandria’ with comfort and poise. Though they were not technically the season’s winners, Nicolandria, who are still together, were the runaway victors in all the ways that actually count: fan fondness and sponsorship deals. Vansteenberghe is now pursuing that most tried-and-true reality side hustle, DJ for hire.”
Naturally, he was having none of that, as he hopped on Threads and wrote, “Dear Vulture magazine…I fly all the way to New York where you ask me to be photographed half naked and you smile and shake my hand and then write some 💩like that??? I’m sure I’ll be told to not speak up about this.”
Vulture has yet to respond to Nic’s criticism. But at the end of the day, he wasted no time defending his girl—as he should!
