Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin dealt with a different kind of devil before pulling up to the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in New York City on Monday, April 20. According to TMZ, they faced an unwanted trespasser on their Hollywood Hills property early Friday morning. Now, the couple has broken their silence and stepped out for their first public appearance since the situation occurred.
During a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dylan and Barbara seemed to be all right when the red carpet correspondent asked if they were doing okay. The Disney Channel alum jokingly made some karate moves and playfully made sound effects with his mouth as Barbara laughed and looked at him.
“Enough said!” he laughed, seemingly referring to his heroic reflexes. Per TMZ’s report, Dylan held the trespasser at gunpoint and tackled him until authorities showed up at their home.
Barbara then smiled and clarified, “We’re good. We’re just happy to have this distraction, you know?”
In a separate interview with E! News, the couple confirmed they were doing well, with the Victoria’s Secret Angel saying, “It’s dealing with the trauma with jokes and fun.”
Dylan added that he’s “not a ‘too soon’ guy” when it comes to cracking jokes as a coping mechanism.
“We’re laughing about things the moment they happen,” he explained. “You got to have levity in life. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and there was no more violence than what happened. So, it’s all okay.”
He also admitted that he originally wanted to talk about the home intrusion by showing off his “performative karate” skills—just like he did with ET—“but then Barbara told me it’s cringe, and I shouldn’t do it.”
Dylan seems to be in better spirits, though a source close to the actor told TMZ that he “is okay, but obviously very shaken up.” The intruder has yet to be identified, but according to the outlet, he was arrested onsite.
Glad to see the couple is doing well!
