• Amanda Batula and West Wilson released a joint statement confirming they were exploring a romantic connection on March 31.
  • Amanda‘s best friend and West’s ex, Ciara Miller, was spotted crying outside an Hermès store in New York City upon hearing the news.
  • Ciara has since opened up about her reaction and jokingly admitted that it was “chic.”

Ciara Miller has officially spoken. The nurse-turned-model-turned-Summer House mainstay made headlines earlier this month for her reaction to her ex-situationship, West Wilson, and best friend, Amanda Batula, exploring a romantic connection. In case you somehow missed the “Scamanda” timeline of events, Ciara was spotted crying outside of a Hermès store in New York City upon hearing the news of West and Amanda’s relationship.

And now, she’s breaking down how this photo came to be:

“I was supposed to be meeting my friend at Pastis, and it’s 12:45, and I’m like, ‘I cannot be sitting at this lunch while I’m reading this fucking statement,’” she explained to Hunter Harris’ Hung Up newsletter via Substack, adding, “I’d lose my fucking mind.”

She also revealed that she had been on the phone with her friend, Paige DeSorbo, “for a while” upon hearing the bombshell news. As for the person who comforted her in the photo, she said, “My manager was down the street and came and met up with me.”

She continued, “And I was like, ‘I don’t even know what the fuck to do. I’m in public.’ I was going to go home, and then, honestly, the photo was snapped faster than I could even make it home.”

As for how she ended up crouched down in front of Hermès, Ciara jokingly admitted that it was “chic.”

“I was like, ‘How chic of it to be Hermès in between Hermès and Bruno Cucinelli,” she said. “It’s honestly just so funny. I didn’t mean for it to be right outside of Hermès, but chic nonetheless, I have to say.”

Ciara recently gave her first interview since the “Scamanda” news broke, telling Glamour the whole thing was a “major mindfuck.”

As she explained it, “I felt like [West and I] were actually starting to be friends again. And we had had a lot of conversations about, ‘Okay, what do I need from you? What do you need from me? What are some of the boundaries that we want to keep in place? What’s going to make our friendship a lot easier?’ One of those [boundaries] was no more sleeping with people on Bravo. Obviously, now that’s out the window.”

But according to Ciara, she felt more betrayed by Amanda than by West. “At the end of the day, a guy’s a guy,” she said. “Whether or not West and I are working on a relationship, you just can’t put anything past a man. But I just never would think that it would come from someone like Amanda, who has been what has felt like in my circle and in my corner for so long.”

That reunion can’t get here soon enough, truly.
