As you may or may not be aware, Natalie Portman has found love with someone new following her messy divorce from ex Benjamin Millepied…and now they’re expecting their first child together! She and French music producer Tanguy Destable (who were first linked in March 2025) confirmed the exciting news to Harper’s Bazaar, saying, “Tanguy and I are very excited. I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.” Love this for her!

Page Six publishes a bombshell report claiming Natalie and Benjamin are “fighting for their marriage” amid his alleged affair with a 25-year-old. According to the outlet, Benjamin and Natalie quietly separated last year but “managed to work through their relationship,” however things hit a rough patch when Natalie “discovered that he had an affair.”
A source tells the outlet, “They have not split and are trying to work things out. Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family. She is incredibly private. Her biggest focus right now is protecting the kids.”
The outlet goes on to claim that Benjamin and Natalie's problems were an “open secret” on May December (see, told you it'd be important).
Soon after, Natalie is spotted at the French Open wearing her wedding ring, implying she and Benjamin are still together:
People then enters the chat, speaking to a source who says the affair was “short-lived and it is over.” They go on to add, “He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together. And because sources quite literally can't stop/won't stop gathering info, Us Weekly once again comes through days later with some intel. An insider tells the outlet that Natalie “has no doubt” Benjamin “regrets what he did,” but that “things just haven’t been the same” and that “it was a really humiliating scenario for Natalie.”
Oh, and another source says the pair “tried to work things out” but “the damage was done” and “she couldn’t forgive him and is taking a break for now.”

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Natalie seemingly hints that she and Benjamin have officially split. What's more? The piece itself notes that the actor “lives in Paris with her two children,” but does not mention the dancer. Additionally, sleuths everywhere note that Natalie subsequently attended the Golden Globes on January 7 alone and without a wedding ring.
Sources then open up about the entire ordeal to Us Weekly, with one noting that the actor is “still hurt” following the affair: “She didn’t give up on [her marriage] lightly...But it became pretty apparent toward the end of last year that her heart had gone out of it.”
Another insider who speaks with the outlet also claims that, “Natalie and Ben actually started having problems over a year ago” because the dancer “would sometimes not return home and was taking work trips that didn’t add up,” which was when the actor, “began to suspect infidelity.”
After news of the affair broke, Natalie was allegedly “humiliated and utterly crushed by Benjamin’s behavior,” but is now “taking time to focus on herself,” per the second source.

The May December actor makes a rare comment about her personal life during an interview for Vanity Fair's 30th annual Hollywood issue when she's asked about French outlet Voici's bombshell article last year, which claimed the actor's husband had been having an extramarital affair.
“It’s terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it,” Natalie says. The interviewer admits they “don't love asking about it, either”…to which the Oscar winner responds, “I can imagine.”

It is revealed that Natalie quietly filed for divorce from Benjamin last July, and, moreover, that their split was officially finalized last month in France, per People. According to the outlet, a rep for the actor confirmed the news as well.
“It was initially really tough for her, but her friends rallied around her and helped get her through the worst of it,” a friend of the couple says at the time before adding, “Natalie is coming out of a really tough and painful year but she's come out the other side of it stronger and is finding joy in her family, friends, and work.”
The insider also reveals that, “Her biggest priority has been ensuring a smooth transition for her children. She and Ben really love their kids and are equally focused on being the best co-parents they can be. Nothing is more important.”
