On April 17, Liv dropped the first single off her forthcoming album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, and let me tell ya, “drop dead” was well worth the wait.

Olivia first revealed the track name earlier this month through a series of pink locks, which she planted in four different cities and—when put together—read, “April 17th drop dead.” She then proceeded to post a series of teasers, including lyrics such as, “I hope you never finish that beer,” and, “It’s feminine intuition.” And while fans had some theories about what (or who…) the song could be about, “drop dead” is way lighter and brighter than the title suggests.

The song is, essentially, about Olivia having a crush, daydreaming about them being together, stalking him on the internet, and even reading into their astrological signs. Truly, the most relatable.

Olivia wrote about the song’s meaning on Instagram, saying, “drop dead is out now!!!! I love this song so much!!! it’s the first chapter in the story of ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ and it makes me wanna skip around and roll the windows down and make out!”

She also chatted about it with British Vogue, saying “I’m very stubborn and if I like someone, I’m like, ‘Yo, this is going to happen. This is rare! Let’s do it.’ The person that the song is about is great.”
