Lana Del Rey and Jeremy Dufrene's Relationship Timeline

In what I can only assume is some elaborate Shrek fantasy come to life, Lana Del Rey got married in a swamp. Okay, technically she got married by a swamp—to none other than her alligator tour guide lover, Captain Jeremy Dufrene.

A little about Jeremy, straight from the "About Us" section of Airboat Tours by Arthur:

"Jeremy decided life at a chemical plant working 7 days a week and shrimping on vacation days was not his calling. After a little convincing by his family, he got his captain's license and started running tours. He quickly realized that this was a great fit and he has never thought of going back to his previous career at the plant. Jeremy's a great airboat captain and loves interacting with wildlife & customers."

Cool! But for those of you who remain in a state of abject confusion about this new chapter in Lana's life (clearly you've never deep-dived her dating history), here's a full timeline of her and Jeremy's love story...which I hope Hallmark uses as inspiration for a film with the title/description "sparks fly at the swamp when an alligator tour captain falls hard for a big city singer."

The Daily Mail speaks to a source who says Lana “wanted to go on a boat tour because it’s a big thing in Louisiana, but she never expected to fall for a gator boat captain. When Lana revisited the area in May to perform at Hangout Fest, they were both single and they reconnected. He saw his golden opportunity and asked her out and they have been together since. She loves older men.”

They add, “Her friends and team did some digging on him over fears he could be using her, but his business is lucrative and he doesn’t need or want Lana’s money. They can see he treats her right and he’s very, very low maintenance. He gives her what she is seeking in a man and is romantic.”

In her interview with W, Lana opens up about the early days of her relationship with Jeremy, saying that she "realized pretty immediately that I loved him."

She also shared that—when discussing how her fame might make the relationship "difficult," Jeremy wasn't intimidated. "Jeremy said, 'I work with alligators—I have tough skin.' And he is a man of his word," she recalled. "All the things that made me upset—and there were so many!—he would just listen and say, 'You be you—and I’ll just love you more.'"
