In case you missed it, Jennifer Lopez and Matt Damon were spotted having an intimate conversation at the premiere of Unstoppable. Ya know, J.Lo’s new movie that’s somewhat awkwardly produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s production company? Yeah, that one.
ICYMI, Ben skipped the premiere for obvious reasons, but apparently, J.Lo and Matt chatted for a full 20 minutes—and even held hands at one point. But according to an insider, Ben wasn’t up for discussion.
“Matt Damon shut down any attempt that J.Lo made to discuss Ben at the premiere,” a source told the Daily Mail, adding that, “It was her timing that was so awkward because she would have known that pulling Matt aside at the event to have an intimate talk was going to get picked up and go viral. Her whole hand on his hand was a nice touch—but he was not having any of it. He told her he is glad she is doing well and is thankful for her participation in the film—but he made it clear he was not there to talk about Ben at all.”
As for a photo Page Six published of Matt bowing his head while speaking to J.Lo, the insider noted he “was not ‘praying’ with her,” and actually made it clear he’d “always have Ben’s back no matter what.”
Overall, sounds pretty 😬, but for what it’s worth, a People source had a slightly more positive take, saying J.Lo and Matt are “very close” and she “enjoyed spending time” at the premiere. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
