Who are Andy Burnham's children Rosie, Annie and Jimmy – who he posts pints and dancing photos with?

All eyes are fixed firmly on Andy Burnham, the former Mayor of Greater Manchester, hotly tipped to be taking over from Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister in the near future – which means curiosity around his family life is peaking too. Along with his wife, Marie-France van Heel, best known as 'Frankie', Andy is a proud parent to three children: son Jimmy and daughters Annie and Rosie.

By the looks of his social media, Andy shares a close relationship with all of them, as he regularly posts snaps of them drinking pints in the pub, taking part in dance competitions and enjoying family barbecues in the sunshine.

Outside of his political career, Andy Burnham seems to be very much a family man, anchored by his three adult children: Jimmy (26), Rosie (23 or 24), and Anne-Marie (early 20s).

The trio has grown up somewhat in the public eye, having appeared at election counts, campaign trails and at events in Manchester alongside their dad, such as Pride. By the looks of his Instagram posts, the family regularly enjoy barbecues together, dog walks and go all in for Christmas, too.

Andy and Marie-France's eldest child is a son named Jimmy, 26 – he was born March 2000 when his parents were living in Brixton, London, before they moved to the North.

According to his LinkedIn, Jimmy returned to the capital city to attend University College London, where he studied for a degree in history. He later went on to become a caseworker for the Labour party, worked as an assistant in a bakery and is currently an International Policy Officer for the Royal College of Nursing.

A Guardian interview with Andy saw him recall how Jimmy hated driving anywhere with him in the run-up to the 2010 election: "I was flashing my lights at someone, saying, 'You first' and he said, 'Dad, stop election driving'. The kids roll their eyes if they ever come shopping with me."

Thought to be around 23 years old, Rosie is Andy and Marie-France's eldest daughter/the middle child of the three siblings. By the looks of it, she currently works as a Customer Development Executive at Jägermeister UK, having previously obtained a degree in criminology from the University of Liverpool.

Andy posted a photo of himself and Rosie back in May 2024, posing on a red carpet at a dance event, with the caption: "Throwback to my Strictly moment in the spotlight with my daughter Rosie. I think i smashed it? What do you guys reckon?"

Best known as Annie, Anne-Marie is Andy and Marie-France's youngest child. Having just wrapped up an English degree at Cardiff University, according to her LinkedIn, Annie has embarked on several internships in the PR and communications space.

Annie has a tattoo on her arm which reads "your eyes were like machinery", lyrics from a Big Thief song, which is visible in a photograph that Andy shared of them together at a Manchester Pride event last summer.

Andy has also posted photos of himself with Annie and Rosie during a visit to Cardiff, enjoying bagels, sightseeing and a trip to a local pub.
