Married at First Sight Australia's Stella Mickunaite has alleged the brutal way Filip Gregov ended their eight month engagement, while speaking about their breakup earlier today.
Yesterday it was confirmed the couple, who met on this year's Married At First Sight Australia, had ended their relationship after getting engaged at the end of the series (which was filmed last year).
And earlier today Stella, 32, took to her Instagram Stories to share her side of the breakup, going onto claim Filip, 37, had ended their relationship over a phone call and she was completely blindsided by their breakup.
Writing on her Instagram Stories she said: "I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but I feel it’s important to share my truth. Filip ended our relationship. While he had clearly been processing that decision for some time, I genuinely believed we were working towards the same future. I was completely blindsided."
She went onto reveal the pair had decided she would end up moving to Melbourne to progress their relationship and she was in the process of packing up her life in Sydney, when Filip ended their relationship during a phone conversation.
"One thing I do want to clarify is that, despite what was shown on the show, I had made the decision to move to Melbourne. I own a business that I’ve spent years building, so it wasn’t as simple as packing a suitcase.
"As our relationship grew, I believed moving to Melbourne made the most sense for us. It offered more family support, better work opportunities for Filip and a more affordable place for us to build a life together.
"I've always been realistic about my biological clock, and starting a family has been something I’ve hoped for for a long time. I genuinely thought we were making those decisions together.
"Instead, I received a phone call ending our relationship. I am heartbroken, deeply saddened and, if I’m honest, incredibly embarrassed that something I believed in so wholeheartedly didn’t work out the way I had hoped," she wrote on her Story.
So far Filip has not commented publicly on the end of the couple's relationship.
Stella and Filip were the golden couple on this year's Married At First Sight Australia and the only couple to stay together after filming ended.
Stella and Filip hit it off instantly on their wedding day, and while, like all couples they had their challenges during the show, they ultimately worked hard on their relationship and went from strength to strength. They ended their time on the show by getting engaged.
Yesterday Stella confirmed the couple had ended their relationship during a statement on her Instagram page, ending her heartfelt message with the declaration: "The person I become because of this pain matters far more than the pain itself."
Here's hoping Stella and Filip are both doing OK post breakup.
