They smell rich (but don’t cost it).

Sitting at my desk right now, I’ve got 45 fragrances to the left of me, nearly all of which are high-end. If I had to guess, I’d say that’s at least $5,000 worth of perfume. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I love it. Niche fragrance houses, expensive notes, beautiful bottles—there’s a reason I keep it all sitting here, beyond having some options for a quick spritz before a meeting or happy hour. But you’d be shocked to learn that it’s not all expensive tastes around here. I love a lot of affordable perfumes too.

If you want to build out your own fragrance wardrobe without spending an arm and a leg, I rounded up my top perfume picks on Amazon, all under $30 right now (shout-out Prime Day). From creamy gourmands to fresh florals, there’s something for everyone, regardless of your budget.

"Lattafa is a Middle Eastern fragrance brand that makes delicious scents with incredible performance, and Khamrah is easily their most well-known (and one of my personal favorites). The scent is sweet with vanilla and cinnamon, but most of all, it smells incredibly rich and lasts, truly, all day long. And it also happens ot be one of the most affordable perfumes I own at less than $30 for a full-size bottle—the price of many of my tiny lil travel sizes."—BETH GILLETTE, BEAUTY EDITOR

“Created in collaboration with fragrance influencer Caroline Stern, Angel Soirée is a fluffy, pink dream. It’s genuinely what I imagine pink clouds would smell like. You know, if that existed in nature. The lychee at the top isn’t too bright or fruity; rather, it sweetens the scent even further.”—BG

“I know, I know, this is a body mist, not a true perfume. But Sol de Janeiro’s body mists have a stronger staying power than many of my EDPs. Cheirosa ‘59 is my absolute favorite scent from the brand. It’s soft and sultry, with vanilla and violet notes. I often wear it to bed because it’s so calming.”—BG

Scent familyWarm and woody
NotesSugared violet, vanilla orchid, sandalwood

“I keep one of these in my bag at all times, because it’s easily the best way to reapply scent throughout the day. I especially love it in crowded spaces, because i don’t have to spray and bother anyone. I just roll it onto my wrists and neck. And Vanilla Verve is a classic smooth vanilla that pairs well with any fragrance I own.”—BG

“Although Dossier now creates many of its own original fragrances, the brand started with creating affordable dupes to expensive, iconic perfumes. So it's no surprise to me that Ambery Saffron, its counterpart to Baccarat Rouge 540, smells the most similar of every dupe I've sniffed. It's not exact when you place them side by side, but on skin, I can't really tell that it's two different perfumes. With my beauty editor hat on, I'd say Ambery Saffron is a bit more woodsy than Baccarat, which dries down extremely sweet on my skin. But that's likely because it doesn't have the ambroxan and sugary notes that give BR that syrupy quality. However, I really do love the addition of orange blossom in this Dossier perfume. It creates a teensy hint of citrus that works well with jasmine and saffron.”—BG
