Everybody’s talking about Furious, the very not New Girl-esque show from the creator of New Girl and screenwriter of No Strings Attached, Elizabeth Meriweather. Furious is about the pursuit of a female serial killer by a female FBI agent. But as details about the killer herself and the agent unfold, it’s clear that there’s more to this story than your average cat and mouse chase. The series is actually loosely based on the 1987 movie Black Widow (not to be confused with the Marvel comics and/or movie character) starring Debra Winger as a data analyst who notices a pattern with several recently deceased rich men and Theresa Russell as the killer targeting them.
Emmy Rossum plays Alice Black
Alice is a former police detective who now works for the FBI and yearns to join the sex crimes unit.
Emmy is best known for two extremely popular but very different roles: Fiona Gallagher in Shameless and Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera. She is a Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award nominee. Other film and television credits include The Day After Tomorrow, Beautiful Creatures, Mystic River, and the Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room.

Lola Petticrew plays Catherine Grace
Catherine goes by many names and is a serial killer with a very specific kill list.
Lola recently starred as Delours Price in Say Nothing, a frankly gripping miniseries based on the true story of the Provisional Irish Republic Army in the 20th century. They were nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and a BAFTA and won and Irish Film & Television Award for their performance. In 2021, they played Jane Seymour in the Channel 5 series Anne Boleyn, and also starred in the Irish drama series Bloodlands and Three Families.

Quincy Tyler Bernstine plays Nora
Nora is the head of the FBI’s sex crimes unit with a lot of insight into what both Alice and Catherine are going through.
Quincy is an NYC-based theatre actress. She was nominated for a Tony in 2024 for the revival of Doubt and has a ton of other theatre awards (Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics, Drama Desk, Obie, etc.) wins and nominations. On screen, you may have seen her in And Just Like That…, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Ray Donovan, Manchester By the Sea, and Still Alice.

Scoot McNairy plays Danny
Danny is Alice’s former partner/friend at the NYPD.
Scoot is a Screen Actor’s Guild and Independent Spirit Award-winning actor for Argo and In Search of a Midnight Kiss, respectively, as well as an Emmy nominee for Narcos: Mexico. He was a series regular on the AMC series Halt and Catch Fire. You also know him from Batman vs. Superman, A Complete Unknown, Nightbitch, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, 12 Years a Slave, and Gone Girl.

Rob Yang plays Frank Choi
Frank is Alice’s new partner at the FBI.
You know Rob from Succession and The Resident, or perhaps the recent Ryan Murphy series The Beauty. He was also one of the victims, I mean guests, in The Menu.

Jake Lacy plays Marshall Connelly
Marshall is Alice’s former, and abusive, boyfriend.
Jake was kind of the go-to Nice Guy (in Obvious Child, Carol, High Fidelity, The Office, and Girls) until The White Lotus flipped that upside down. His role in the first season of the HBO series earned him an Emmy nomination, so, maybe nice guys do finish last.

Rob Delaney plays Oliver Charles
Oliver is one of Catherine’s early victims.
You probably know Rob as Pete in Deadpool 2 and Deadpool + Wolverine. He also played “Neighbor Guy” in last year’s excellent Dying for Sex and co-created, wrote, produced, and starred in the series Catastrophe. Other recent film credits include Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Last Christmas, and Bombshell.

Mira is Charles’ daughter.
Riley, a highland dancer in addition to an actress, has also guest starred on Law & Order and appears in the Hulu horror film Mr. Crocket and the romantic comedy Fantasy Life.

Chloe Troast plays Becky
Becky works at a women’s shelter where Catherine goes to secure a new identity.
Chloe was a featured cast member on Saturday Night Live’s 49th season. She played Poppy in her SNL coworkers’ film Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain. Other film and television credits include the latest “Marathon Day” episode of Adults, The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins, Sweethearts, Goodrich, and The Four Seasons.

Emma is the mother of one of Catherine’s alleged victims.
Hope Davis is an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Tony-nominated actress you know from movies like Flatliners, Asteroid City, About Schmidt, The Mastermind, and Synecdoche, New York. She played Sandi Furness on Succession and had recurring/main roles on shows like The Newsroom, the Perry Mason reboot, Wayward Pines, For The People, and In Treatment.
