Ariana Grande is officially taking a break from “visibility” after her Eternal Sunshine Tour ends. A representative for the singer confirmed in a statement to People that Ariana would be stepping away from the public eye, saying, “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour.”
The statement continued, “She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny. This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”
It was also confirmed Ariana would now also not be appearing in the West End show Sunday in the Park with George at the Barbican alongside her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey, which was due to start in summer next year.
The Barbican shared the following statement following the news from Ariana's reps: “We can confirm that she has decided to step back from Sunday in the Park with George. We know this cannot have been an easy decision, and she makes it with our complete understanding and support. We wish her nothing but the best.”
The show itself is still set to continue and a co-star for Jonathan is expected to be announced soon.
Ari’s Eternal Sunshine Tour kicked off in June earlier this year and is set to include 41 live shows. She began the tour in Oakland, San Francisco and has since performed around the U.S., with a number of dates in L.A., Austin, Atlanta, New York and more.
This week she is set to perform three shows in Chicago on August 3, 5, and 6. The tour will then travel overseas and see her perform 10 shows in London at the O2 Arena.
The London section of her tour is the last stage of the tour and will start on August 15 and end on September 1. Therefore, the last time we will likely see Ariana in the public eye is in less than a month’s time.
This news comes just a few days after the release of Ariana's new album petal.
