Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s friendship? What used to be a beautiful thing may now be something beyond repair. The duo has been linked since 2015, which means they spent a decade of absolute bestie vibes before things soured. And honestly? I never saw this coming.
Let’s not forget that Blake’s daughter, James, is the baby voice in the intro of Reputation’s “Gorgeous,” and that the names of her three daughters—James, Betty, and Inez—are featured in the trilogy of songs depicting folklore’s fictional love triangle. Oh, and Blake also directed a full-on music video for Red (Taylor’s Version) in 2021. So, yeah, their reported fallout is more than a little surprising.

Blake shared a (since-deleted) Instagram post with a pic from a L’Oréal campaign shoot featuring John Legend, captioning the pic, “Soooo, turns out this WASN’T a video shoot for John Legend’s cover of Bad Blood. @lorealparisofficial blew it out for this one.”
And when fans accused her of throwing shade at Taylor, she posted another (since-deleted) pic of her niece backstage with Taylor during her 1989 tour.
“Umm whoever thought I was throwin’ shade clearly doesn’t know I have a ‘Taylor Swift Please Be My Wife Voo Doo Doll’ #obsessed,” she wrote. “Look how rad she is here making my niece Heather feel like a rock star. Despite rumors claiming that Tay has been distancing herself from Blake amid her ongoing legal drama with Justin, a source for Page Six stated that the stars do not have a strained relationship at the moment, and any rumors about Taylor keeping her distance are “not true.”

After months of speculation about whether Blake and Ryan will be invited to Taylor’s wedding, the couple is spotted attending their daughter Betty’s horse show in Lake Placid ahead of Taylor’s rehearsal dinner, per People.
And when the wedding goes down the following day, Blake and Ryan are nowhere to be seen amid the 1,000 guests making their way into Madison Square Garden.
“Taylor’s in a different place now and she just wants to be around people she trusts and who bring her peace,” a source tells Page Six of Blake’s reported absence. “It’s a shame because she and Blake really were close, but she doesn’t think it’s something that’s going to be fixed. As far as [Taylor’s] concerned, their friendship is done.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail speaks to a source who says Blake is “sad and a little bit pissed. No, a lot pissed. That friendship was over before but if there was hope, it’s gone. They’ll never be friends again.”
