Fans have long been awaiting for details about Sarah J. Maas’s upcoming sixth and seventh books in the A Court of Thrones and Roses series after it has become a worldwide phenomenon. Well, Sarah decided to break some major news all on her own by revealing the titles and covers of the books directly on her Instagram.

The sixth book in the series is A Court of Splintered Harmony — The Valkyrie Cycle: Movement I, while the seventh book is A Court of Forgotten Melody — The Valkyrie Cycle: Movements II & III.

The book covers also come with some slight differences as they have two colors that seem to fade into one another, unlike the previous covers that only had one solid color for the cover.

Sarah J. Maas did offer some glimpse with what to expect with two small sentences following each reveal. “What was broken will be remade,” for A Court of Splintered Harmony and “What was lose will be reclaimed,” for A Court of Forgotten Melody.

And later, Bloomsbury revealed the official descriptions via press release.

A Court of Splintered Harmony: A Court of Thorns and Roses 6

What was broken will be remade.

Deep in the heart of the continent, Koschei the Deathless is stirring. Though he’s been bound to a mountain lake for millennia, the insidious threat of his return now spreads across the Fae territories, attracting powerful allies hell-bent on reclaiming what was once theirs: the human lands.

The Night Court will not stand idly by while innocents are attacked. But with Prythian still piecing itself together in the wake of the devastating Hybern War, the task of uniting is proving more difficult by the day.

To make matters worse, those who rule and protect the Night Court are reeling from recent betrayals and revealed truths. The rifts dividing them seem insurmountable.

But to defeat Koschei’s creeping shadow, they must find a way back to each other and resurrect their former alliances. To survive, they must find a way to repair the splintered harmony all around them.

A Court of Forgotten Melody: A Court of Thorns and Roses 7

What was lost will be reclaimed.

Prythian might never be the same again. Traditional alliances are crumbling, and no amount of diplomacy seems sufficient to repair them. With the continued threat of Koschei the Deathless on the horizon, a united front is crucial—and farther out of reach than it has ever been before.

Bonds will be tested. Power will shift. And old enemies will emerge from nightmares of the past.

As the Night Court’s Inner Circle disperses far and wide, desperate for any advantage against Koschei and his mighty allies, peace hangs by a fragile thread. But hope can be spun from the darkest of shadows, and the Night Court has its own part to play in the looming crescendo.

A Court of Splintered Harmony and A Court of Forgotten Melody together begin The Valkyrie Cycle, a continuation of the ACOTAR series.

One thing to note is that book six is listed at 352 pages, while book seven is set to be 928 pages, according to their respective pages by their publisher, Bloomsbury Publishing.

There’s still no word on book eight just yet, but during her appearance on Call Her Daddy, Sarah J. Maas confirmed that a fourth part of the new “cycle” will also be released.

“Part one was this huge, huge thing. And then I realized it was gonna be four parts. A book told in four parts. So then I wrote part two, and part three. And those were really fucking long,” she said. “And so, like, and then part four has yet to be written because right now I’m trying to just get part one, which is out in October. And then parts two and three to be out in January is like one combined thing. So it’s basically gonna be, like, three physical volumes, but it's like one thing altogether that no amount of glue in, like, any publisher’s factory could ever like hold this.”

A Court of Splintered Harmony will be released on October 27, 2026. A Court of Forgotten Melody will be released on January 12, 2027.
