It's no grand revelation to assert that there is a direct link between your age and your salary. As we get older, we expect our salaries to gradually rise but, as talking about our wages is still taboo, it's hard to ascertain how much you should expect to earn at different ages.
However, Instant Offices – a broking services for office space – has conducted research to find out what you should be getting paid at what age based on monthly UK averages. The findings are interesting; in 2015, it reports that the average UK salary for a full-time employee is £27,000 and that those living in London take home the most money with a monthly average of £2,925).
Read below to see what you should expect to be paid each month at what age:
Late teens: £1,270–£1,361 Twenties: £1,829–£1,924 Thirties: £2,33–£2,535 (this is when the average salary for women peaks at £2,331) Forties: £2,258–£2,830 (this is when the average salary for men peaks at £2,830)
