Donald Trump is back on UK soil, with the US president receiving an unprecedented second state visit.

As part of his return back to Blighty, the 79-year-old is rubbing shoulders with royals, seeing him fly into Windsor Castle alongside wife Melania to be greeted Prince William and wife, Kate Middleton. He was then introduced to King Charles and wife, Queen Camilla.

Trump was also treated to a lavish 160 person state banquet, which saw a number of officials enjoy a three-course meal.

However, many have spotted the strange seating plan which saw the Prince and Princess of Wales seated apart at the black-tie event.

Kate, who wore an intricate gold lace gown paired with the ornate Lovers’s Knot tiara, was seated next to President Trump, who described Kate as “so beautiful” and added that she was looking “so radiant and so healthy” during a speech he made at dinner.

On her other side was the surprising addition of Michael Boulos, a business executive who is married to Trump’s youngest daughter, Tiffany.

Meanwhile, Prince William was next to Paula Reynolds, who currently serves as the Chair of the National Grid.

But while the pair weren’t seated next to each other, the Prince and Princess of Wales decided to bend the royal rules to share their affection for one another.

In one sneaky below-the-radar photo taken by Matt Porteous, a candid image of the Prince and Princess of Wales holding hands, while standing outside of Windsor Castle in the pitch black, was shared on social media.

Typically, royals aren’t meant to share affection for one another in public in a bid to remain “professional” – however, we’ve seen attitudes towards this rule soften in more recent times.

Earlier this week, Kate was seen lovingly kissing King Charles on the cheek after an emotional funeral service.

And the Princess of Wales has previously been caught tapping her husband on the bum in one naughty exchange.

Aren’t they adorable?
