It's been around 18 months since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first moved out of the UK (originally heading to Canada and then to California), and now it's been reported that the Duchess of Sussex could potentially be returning to British soil next month.
Prince Harry has headed back to the UK alone on numerous occasions in recent months - including for his grandfather Prince Philip's funeral back in April and for the unveiling of a new Princess Diana statue in June. Meghan wasn't able to join Harry on either occasion, due to being heavily pregnant when the funeral took place, and having just given birth to baby Lilibet at the time of the statue unveiling. However, an upcoming event could mean we'll see Meghan's first trip back to the UK since relocating.
The event in question would be another memorial event for Princess Diana, following the statue unveiling which took place on what would have been Diana's 60th birthday. The original statue reveal was scaled down due to COVID restrictions, but now it's been reported that Prince Harry could be set to return to the UK in September for a Diana memorial event with over 100 friends, family and charity leaders in attendance.
It's possible that Meghan may also come back to the UK with Harry for the event, according to reports from The Sun. However, some sources have reportedly said that it could still be too early for Meghan to travel, as the event will come just three months after baby Lilibet's birth.
Speaking about plans for the event, an insider has revealed, "September is a date pencilled in for a more extensive celebration of the statue, and Harry will want to return," according to The Sun.
Nothing has been confirmed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just yet, and it's thought the pair are currently on parental leave enjoying time with new baby Lilibet and two-year-old Archie - so we hope they're able to spend some well-deserved time off.
