Yesterday, actor Tom Hanks, 63, shared an update that he and his wife, Rita, also 63, had tested positive for coronavirus.
"Hello folks," he wrote. "Rita Wilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness.
"We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no?"
He has since followed up with a second message, which accompanies a picture of him and Rita looking in pretty good health, if you ask us. It's unclear as to whether or not this is a recent snap though. The actor used the post to once again thank everybody who has been taking care of the couple since their diagnosis, which should certainly help to reassure worried fans and celebrity friends.
Tom captioned this new update with: "Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx"
They're currently out in Queensland, Australia, where Tom is shooting a new film about Elvis Presley with Baz Luhrmann.
Everyone's clicking on...
Much like with Tom's original post, announcing their diagnosis, other Hollywood names have shared their well wishes in the comments section. Singer Gwen Stefani wrote a simple "Love u both", while actor Douglas Booth said, "Wishing you both a speedy recovery. Go Hanx! ❤". Sharon Stone also chimed in with, "It's hard to be the example all of the time you guys! My heart, friendship and compassion [are with] you ❤ love SHARON".
Here's hoping Tom and Rita are on the mend soon!
