This photo series showing people in and out of their fetish gear is normalising BDSM

While attitudes towards fetish and BDSM are certainly changing, there are still a butt load of stigma and misconceptions that the community has to deal with. But a new photo series is challenging those misconceptions by showing people in and out of their fetish wear.

The Crave Portrait Project is all about showing the "joy people find in sharing themselves as sexual beings." Crave co-founder and photographer Michael Topolovac says the reason for series is, "In recent months, headlines about abuse of power and sexual violence have dominated the conversation in ways that we hope will ultimately be useful, but are also quite dark." So his photo series is celebrating people's sexual pleasure. Cool, right?

Each person or couple was pictured both in their everyday attire and the outfits they wore to San Francisco's Folsom Street Fair, a leather and fetish gear fair. Their names and occupations are included in the series, showing anyone and everyone can be into BDSM.
