Made in Chelsea's Olivia Bentley has opened up about going on a date with a woman for the first time, and the way she did it was super cool. Liv casually dropped the news into conversation during a recent episode of MIC, and we love how little of a big deal she makes about the whole situation. PSA: you don't always need to 'come out' if you fancy dating someone of the same gender as you, and it definitely doesn't need to be a huge deal, and Liv 100% proves that.
During the episode, Liv tells her pals, "I've actually got a date later," and when asked, "What's his name?" she casually replies, "It's actually a her."
Liv goes on to explain, "I basically was out the other night, and I met this girl who's gay, and sort of got chatting. And then I kissed her..."
Liv made it clear that this doesn't need to change how she identifies, explaining, "It's not a girl thing, like I'm not attracted to [girls]... I don't think it's a gender thing. It's a person thing."
She was also super casual about the whole thing, showing how going on a date with someone of the same gender as you doesn't need to be a big deal at all. Liv told her friends and fellow cast-members Ollie and Gareth Locke, "It's really weird, I haven't been sitting mulling over it all day or anything like that. Yesterday, I was a bit like 'do I or do I not?' and then today I was like, 'yeah, f**k it."
Later in the episode, Liv reflected on how the date went, saying she didn't want to rush into anything. "For me, it's not like a sexual thing," she explained. "It's not like, 'I'm gonna go and have sex with a girl.' It was more like, I actually really liked her, but I like her personality, we get on really well - and I fancy her.
Everyone's clicking on...
"But then at the same time, I still like blokes," she said, adding that she viewed the situation as "normal" and didn't want it to be seen as "weird" - which, BTW, it definitely isn't.
We love how casual Liv was about the whole situation, and we can't wait to see more from her this season on MIC.
