Ibiza, ‘Eee-bee-zah’, the magic island, white island, party island – whatever you know it as, I don’t think it gets better than booking a Balearic destination holiday with your loved one or besties. Now that I’ve seen it with my own eyes, I now understand why people go and keep coming back again (and again, and again…).
Where we stayed
Cala San Miguel
As much as I love getting hot and sweaty on a dance floor, for an island escape, head to the north side of Ibiza, a rocky stretch dotted with pine forests and crystal-clear coves, where you can settle into the serene Cala San Miguel. This adults-only resort, tucked among the trees and gazing out over the turquoise water, strikes the perfect balance between luxury and authenticity, offering a truly Ibizan experience that encourages wellness, relaxation and a deep connection to the land.
Just a 30-minute drive from the airport, Cala San Miguel feels like a true oasis. The hotel features 292 rooms with a boutique atmosphere, offering everything from private plunge pools and outdoor bathtubs to panoramic sea or mountain views and dreamy swim-up suites. The resort is loosely divided into two main areas: the general resort, carved into the hillside above the coast, and THE CLUB - a more exclusive, boutique section we were lucky enough to experience first-hand. Here, larger rooms and premium services take the experience to the next level (they even had a birthday cake waiting for me in my room on arrival).
Effortlessly chic, the hotel is the kind of place that lingers long after summer fades, thanks to its beautifully curated natural materials and décor that reflects the surrounding landscape.

What we did
If you enjoy exploring new areas, go for a hike along the coastline - the views are breathtaking! If you're in need of a guide, the island-famous Manuel from Ibiza Hike Station is worth getting in touch with. He knows all the insane spots.
Whilst exploring the coastline be sure to stop off at Cala Gracioneta, a beachside restaurant nestled in the San Antonio cove. The restaurant specialises in Mediterranean and seafood delicacies. With its rustic charm, sun-kissed terrace, and fresh catch of the day, it's a quintessential spot for a leisurely seaside meal. Sip on sangria and try out their paella dishes whilst overlooking the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. Cala Gracioneta embodies the essence of Ibiza's coastal dining, making it a must-visit for a taste of authentic island cuisine and mixing with the locals.
I’d also recommend a venture to Las Dalias Market – home to Ibiza’s hippy heritage and one of the largest markets on the island. The colourful event comes alive every Saturday morning from April to October, and you will be sure to find beautiful handmade clothing and jewellery, perfect for a little souvenir or a last minute kaftan.
Also, head to Cala Benirrás, a beach renowned for its free-spirited hippie charm. Expect sunset drum circles, laid-back restaurants and even a daily market during the summer months. You can also catch a water taxi from the resort’s beach to explore and return in style.
It's well worth immersing yourself in everything the resort itself has to offer. During our stay, they hosted their opening party; a vibrant evening filled with local dancers, musicians and artisans. Stalls from nearby merchants showcased the best of the region’s food and drink, making it a true celebration of Ibiza’s cultural richness. The resort also hosts open-air movie nights, painting sessions and wine-tasting journeys.
And if lounging by the pool isn’t quite your style, you’re in luck. Try sunrise paddle-boarding or snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters to spot local marine life. Take part in a beachfront yoga session or head into the hills for a soul-soothing hike through the rugged northern coastline.
Playa Soleil
Nestled on the sun-kissed shores of Ibiza, Playa Soleil is a tropical paradise that ignites the senses. This beachfront haven offers an exquisite blend of relaxation and exhilaration, perfect for both day and night adventures. By day, it's all about sipping fruity cocktails under the blue skies, sinking toes into powdery sands, and embracing the Balearic beats. As the sun sets, the energy shifts to a dynamic nightlife, with world-class DJs and vibrant parties that last until dawn. A stunning fusion of luxury and boho-chic vibes, Playa Soleil is a must-visit for those who seek endless days of bliss and nights of unforgettable fun.
If you’re on the island for the party vibes, the infamous Pikes is also a short cab ride away. Home of Pamela’s, a spot for a raucous and yummy Sunday brunch, it’s also a famed spot for celebs and icons of through the years. Wham! filmed ‘Club Tropicana’ here, and more recently, Lewis Capaldi filmed his ‘Forget Me’ video too. Venture into its tiny club space, and you’ll see pics on the wall of some famous guests – Grace Jones and Freddie Mercury included. Try to catch DJ Harvey’s perfect party nights here towards the end of the season in September.
If you're feeling energised and up for another night out during your trip, Hï Ibiza is the ultimate adult playground and dazzling beacon of nightlife on the White Isle. With its cutting-edge soundscapes and sensual design, the club magnetises the world's elite partygoers. Dance beneath the stars and embrace the electric atmosphere of this paradise. The club opened its doors in 2017 and it was built on the site of the iconic Space Ibiza, which closed in 2016 after a legendary 27-year run. Hï Ibiza quickly became a major player in the Ibiza nightlife scene, known for its state-of-the-art production and hosting top DJs. The club's modern design and innovative approach have solidified its status as a must-visit destination for party enthusiasts on the island.
Where we ate
You’ll want to stay at Cala San Miguel for than a couple of nights to properly explore the six bars and restaurants, where local flavours are reimagined, alongside refined international classics. And then there’s the newly opened Beach House, the resort’s take on a beach club, but elevated. Bask in the sunshine by the pool, enjoy beautifully prepared dishes, and sip on expertly crafted cocktails or local wines, all while DJs and live acts provide the perfect soundtrack.
Port de Balansat
If you want to head outside of the resorts compound, there are some local eateries just steps away that are well worth a visit. The picturesque Port de Balansat overlooks the water and creates local cuisine from locally sourced produce, it’s the perfect place to retreat for a cold glass of wine and paella post-beach swim before heading back out for another dip.
Alma Beach
Take a short cab ride to the cove of Port des Torrent, where Alma Beach club is nestled. There's three different restaurant options – Sunset, Brasas and Wellness – all offering healthy, avant-garde cuisine that you can dine on in their lovely terrace or luxe hammocks. For a lush local vibe, take a cab up to the little hilltop village that's home to Can Berri Vell. The views are gorgeous, and the restaurant prides itself for homegrown produce and Ibizan flavours. Expect aniseed!
The Maine
Nestled in the heart of Ibiza's vibrant culinary scene and a stones throw away from the airport, The Maine restaurant is a true gastronomic gem. This stylish eatery marries Mediterranean flavours with a modern twist, creating an unforgettable experience. From the freshest seafood to sumptuous pasta, the menu is a food lover's dream. The ambiance is equally captivating, with chic, low-lit decor and a laid-back yet sophisticated atmosphere. The Maine's extensive wine list adds a perfect pairing to every dish. With impeccable service and a charming outdoor terrace, it's a must-visit for those who crave a sexy and sophisticated culinary adventure. Bon appétit!
Zitya
Zitya, the most beautiful restaurant I’ve dined in! Recently known as Naïf, a popular bar in the late nineties and now transformed into a stylish and modern patio bar and finca. This enchanting eatery, based inland on the island, exhibits a traditional aegean cuisine with a touch of international flair. The chic décor sets the stage for a night of food seduction, with soft lighting and panoramic views of the moonlit sky. During our visit we experienced dishes such as the mezzo platter, the Zitya salad and the dark chocolate and pistachio baklava.
Zitya is the place where culinary and destination dreams come true, a must for the modern foodie and interior design enthusiasts.
Amante
Amante, located on the west side of the island, is where the art of food, nature's beauty, and timeless elegance come together in harmony. Set on the rugged cliffs at Sol d’en Serra with panoramic views of the glistening Mediterranean, this restaurant offers an exceptional and unforgettable dining experience. The menu is a heartfelt ode to Mediterranean cuisine, embracing the richness of local, organic ingredients and traditional flavours. Begin your culinary voyage with the restaurants daily created cocktail and make sure to try the monkfish stew. As night falls, the intimate, candle-lit ambiance paired with the soothing sea breeze creates an atmosphere of pure romance. While you're on the island, be sure to explore its sister restaurant, Aiyanna, to continue your exploration of culinary excellence.
The best times to visit the island would be from May to October, when the temperature is pleasant and the ocean is warm. Ibiza is the most magical and beautiful place on this earth – the zen, the party, the wellbeing and the glorious local food. A perfect destination for high and low season, and recharging during the mega closing parties and nightlife.
