Burgundy has undoubtedly been one of the biggest colour trends in the last few months, from appearing in homeware, like M&S' £25 cushion, to in our wardrobes with everything from blouses to jackets, and our love of the deep red shade is showing no sign of slowing down, particularly after spotting a new burgundy bedding set in Sainsbury's.
The idea of red in a bedroom could be a bit overwhelming at first, but the deep and darker burgundy shade is a great way to experiment with adding colour to your room, without going full-on rainbow.
Burgundy is an ideal shade to mix with creams, neutrals and wood textures, so if you've already got a pretty classic colour palette, this burgundy bedding set will just elevate your bedroom, by bringing in an extra colour. It also works well as a nice complimentary colour to dusky pink and blush tones, and as a nice contrast to richer emerald or turquoise tones. So basically it'll work for everyone's room.
Habitat at Sainsbury's burgundy bedding set is £24 for a double size and is in a burgundy and white gingham pattern on one side and a block burgundy on the other side. The set also comes with two matching pillowcases, with one side also having the gingham pattern and the other the plain block colour. This way you can mix and match, by having a gingham print cover and plain pillows, or vice versa.

While burgundy is currently on-trend as one of the biggest colour's for spring, this set is still so timeless that you can continue to use it for years without it feeling dated.
The seersucker fabric also means it's going to be super cosy to sleep in, as many Sainsbury's shoppers have noted, with one person saying: "Very stylish and very comfy." While another said: "Perfect, so cute and cosy. The colour is beautiful too."
The duvet set also comes in a single and king size, and you can purchase from Habitat and Argos online or in store at your local Sainsbury's.
We know which aisle we'll be heading to next time we do the foodshop.
