Nando's has been forced to temporarily close several of its restaurants as the result of a "supply chain" issue, which has led to a shortage of peri peri chicken, and safe to say Nando's fans are not happy.
Earlier this week [Wednesday 17] the chicken restaurant revealed on Twitter that it had been forced to shut restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales as a result of the knock-on effects of supply chain shortages.
The chain has reportedly been forced to temporarily close around 50 restaurants and it didn't take long before people started to notice and query the closures with the restaurant on Twitter.
In response to one person who asked about the closures, the brand responded;
"The UK supply chain is having a bit of a ‘mare right now. This is having a knock-on effect with some of our restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales. We are doing everything we can to get the PERi-PERi back where it belongs – on your plates!"
Meanwhile the Nando's Twitter account is full of people asking when their local restaurants would be reopening, with the brand responding to each tweet saying they can't know for sure when the stores will be back up and running.
Of course, this has caused quite the uproar from Nando's fans who quickly took to Twitter to make an important point about the cause of the shortage.
The sooner we can get back to having a cheeky ol' time the better.
