Creme Eggs are a staple of any diet around Easter weekend, especially when this super easy yet completely delicious Creme Egg Brownie recipe is involved.

Combining triple chocolate cookies (yep), fudge brownies (yes) and Cadbury Creme Eggs (yaaaas), this recipe essentially layers chocolate on chocolate on chocolate, and is as mouthwateringly delicious as they look.

To make it at home, you'll need:

  • 1 pack of Triple Chocolate Cookie Mix
  • 200g butter
  • 15ml water
  • 1 pack of Belgian Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • 3 (real!) eggs, whisked
  • 9 Creme Eggs, halved and then half quartered

The method:

  1. Mix together the Triple Chocolate Cookie mix with 50 grams of butter and 15ml of water, and breadcrumb together with your hands or a wooden spoon until it forms a solid dough
  2. Pat the cookie dough into a thin layer at the bottom of a pre-lined 35cm rectangular cake tin. While it might feel like not enough mixture, keep spreading!
  3. Next, half nine Creme Eggs by carefully slipping a blunt butter knife between the join. Once you have 18 halves, cut nine of them in half again, so you have quarters.
  4. Layer the quarters on top of the cookie dough - the messier the better
  5. Now make the brownie mix according to the box instructions - first, we added 150g melted butter, and mixed. Add half the whisked egg mixture until fully incorporated, and then add the rest.
  6. Pour over the Creme Egg and cookie dough base. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the batter no longer jiggles around when you shake the tin (technical, we know!)
  7. Take the brownies out of the oven, and make nine inch-long incisions to slot your half-Creme Eggs into. Pop back in the oven for 5 minutes, or until the Creme Eggs melt a little, et voila! Slutty Creme Egg Brownies for all <3
