Avo-lovers, rejoice: now avocados can be rightly worshipped and celebrated at Easter too. Courtesy of Waitrose, fans will now be able to tuck into a giant easter egg which looks exactly like the tasty, soft green fruit this April.
The Waitrose Chocolate Avocado comes in a dark chocolate shell, which opens to smooth white chocolate with natural green colouring and a cocoa dusted ‘stone’ - resembling a giant avocado.

But chocolate fans can rest-assured - despite looking just like a giant avocado, the egg is actually made using 100% chocolate, with no avocado flavouring – so it tastes like chocolate, and definitely not an avocado. Think of it more as a homage to the green fruit.
The shell and stone are Belgian chocolate (made with 70% cocoa), while the white chocolate middle uses natural colouring to imitate the green flesh of the fruit.

The new Waitrose Chocolate Avocado is available in Waitrose branches nationwide and online, from 19th February, priced at £8 (250g).
