Eggs are basically the easiest thing you could choose to cook, right? So why is it that we're learning new cooking hacks all the time? From how to make the perfect scrambled, to the hack for a fuss-free hard-boiled and now to the way you're supposed to fry an egg (which we definitely haven't been doing).
Oh and did we mention when we discovered a whole new type of egg?
Anyway, back to frying.
According to some top chefs, the key to making a super special fried egg is to use a lid.
Mind blown.
Masterchef finalists Billy and Jack told The Mirror: "To get a perfect top, spoon oil over the top yes, but you can also put a lid on the frying pan and the heat and steam will seal the top, with a perfect yolk but none of the undercooked white".
Everyone's clicking on...
Jamie Oliver also likes his eggs cooked this way, more of a soft fried situation rather than crispy and rubbery.
This method can take a little longer, but perhaps that soft, melt-in-the-mouth buttery goodness is worth the wait?
We'll have to try it out ourselves to find out!
