Wicked is one of the West End’s most successful musicals, recently becoming London’s 11th longest running shows in theatre history.
If you’re a fan of the show, you probably already know all the words to the songs – but are you a true Wicked-lover until you’ve eaten one of Glinda’s shoes or Elphaba’s hat?
We think not but, lucky for you, the opportunity to tuck into a Wicked-themed feast is now available, thanks to a new afternoon tea launching at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London.
Hot on the heels of the House Of Fraser's Cinderella carriage afternoon tea, this new tea – distinctly green in theme – features plenty of treats based on the show, all conjured up by executive pastry chef Paul Thieblemont.
Guests can enjoy pastries including matcha and hazelnut finger topped with Glinda’s sparkly shoe, Elphaba’s milk chocolate mousse and caramel hat and The Good Witch’s dark chocolate choux. There will also be a selection of sandwiches, scones with rose petal jam and cream, and a choice of over 40 rare teas. Yumzer.
We definitely won’t be defying gravity after tucking into all that – but we’ll certainly be well fed! The Wicked Afternoon Tea costs £28 for children and £53 for adults. To book contact the Manderin Oriental Hyde Park on 02072 023828.
