Who doesn't love a wedding? While nothing compares to attending a ceremony IRL, especially if the couple tying the knot are some of your nearest and dearest, scrolling through the pics from a celebrity marraige is a close second.
From seeing what the bride wore (celebrity wedding dresses are almost always custom design creations) to which other famous faces scored an invite, a celeb wedding is far more extra than any event we could dream of attending – hence why it makes such good viewing.
This year alone we've been lucky enough to drool over Sofia Richie Grainge's three custom Chanel gowns, Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse's tradition-filled Hungarian event and Leigh-Anne Pinnock's dreamy Jamaican affair.
And over the weekend, Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff became the latest celebrities to get married. But the internet seems to be more focused on Lana Del Rey's attendance at the nuptials, more specifically her ensemble.
With a star-studded guest list including Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum, the wedding was always bound to make headlines. However, it is Lana's wedding guest dress that has really got people talking as the singer broke the number one wedding guest etiquette rule by arriving at the ceremony wearing white. AKA the colour reserved for the bride.
Lana's dress is the Kesia dress by LoveShackFancy and features a pink floral design with a white lace panel down the front of the bodice and skirt, with a white lace hem. The halterneck style also has a large cut-out starting at the sides and stretching around the back under a white shirring strip.
She added a white cardigan and blue Prada handbag, while a white bow adorned her hair. But it wasn't just the colour of the garment the internet had thoughts about, with her choice of footwear – '90s pink platform slides – also facing criticism for being too casual. Some social media users even compared them to Crocs.
This isn't the first time a celebrity wedding guest outfit has caused an online uproar. When Kendall Jenner attended her friend's wedding back in 2021 wearing a very revealing cut-out dress, the internet was divided about whether the lewk was 'wedding appropriate'. So much so, Kendall responded to critics of the dress weeks later.
More recently, Kim Kardashian made the same faux pas as her sister at her bff Stephanie Shepherd's wedding – and in a *very* similar black gown that is more cut-outs than fabric.
But back to Lana – if you love her look, we've got good news. Her exact dress is still in stock in every size. Shop it now:
Just maybe don't wear it to a wedding unless you want to risk a few negative comments...
