Meghan Markle divided the internet this weekend when she wore an oversized Oscar De La Renta gown to Prince Harry's cousin's wedding.

Some thought she looked fab, while others thought the dress swamped her frame - oh and there was a mention of it looking a tad like a duvet cover, too.

But now it seems as though the reason behind Meghan's choice of unusual wedding guest outfit may have been something to do with the late Princess Diana.

Some clever people have noticed that Meghan's £4,000 designer dress looks very similar in style to a dress Princess Di wore in Saudi Arabia in 1986.

While Meghan's dress is full length and has a split up the front, Diana's is more of a smock situation which she wore over white trousers.

Still, the prints are pretty close, so it could be very possible that Meghan was referencing her late mother-in-law when she picked her look.
