Finished Adolescence? Here are 6 more TV shows you should watch

The Netflix show hit 24.3 million views in just four days!

By

Stephen Graham's four-part crime series, Adolescence, has a well and truly captivated viewers since arriving on Netflix earlier this month.

In just four days, it reached 24.3 million viewers, with fans praising the impeccable cast including 15-year-old newbie Owen Cooper, the show's unique one-take filming style and incredible storytelling.

"#Adolescence is a masterpiece. But the fact that each episode was filmed in one take. I cant wrap my mind around it," one viewer wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

"I know many are singing the praises of #Adolescence but I can't emphasise enough what a powerful, devastating and incredibly shot/ acted series it is. It's also about very relevant themes. Owen Cooper gave the most haunting performance I've seen from a child actor. Unbelievable," another said.

Following the release, Prime Minister Keir Starmer backed a campaign to have the series shown at schools.

Based on the rise in knife crime in the UK, Adolescence follows Jamie Miller, a 13-year-old boy who is accused of murdering a girl at his school after being radicalised by misogynistic and incel culture online.

Unlike many crime dramas, it follows a "why-done-it" style rather a "whodunnit" raising a lot of questions from both the characters and the viewers alike.

Since its release, fans have shared their hopes for a second season to explore the impact of the storyline even further.

Unfortunately, there are no plans to renew Adolescence for another season. But, if you are looking for a similar show, whether that be more series that were filmed in one-take or shows exploring similar themes, we've put together a list for you to watch next.
