Warning: For those watching in the UK, there are major spoilers ahead, so turn back now if you have better self-restraint than we do.

UK viewers are still in the middle of the action of the latest Married at First Sight Australia, but filming actually finished long ago with contestants now back into the reality of life outside the show.

And while some contestants' marriages were over in just a few episodes, other couples gave us hope.

Wherever you're up to with your watching, you'll likely have seen some couples not making it through the experiment at all, others getting pretty candid on the couch they don't see a romantic future together. But UK viewers will be relieved to hear some do, in fact, make it to the Final Vows.

And contestants have even started speaking out about their experiences post-filming and whether they've stayed true to their Final Vows, including Filip and Stella, but also Rachel and Steven too.

Here's a recap of Rachel and Steven's journey on MAFSAU if some details have slipped your mind...

What happened with Rachel and Steven on MAFS Australia?

A slightly rocky start saw Rachel feeling wounded as a result of Steven's lack of compliments about her appearance on their wedding day. However, appearing a true gentleman, Steven not only listened to, but truly heard Rachel's concerns, quickly reassuring her and rectifying his mistake.

The pair's communication issues continued to wobble during Intimacy Week with Rachel hoping to advance the romance in their relationship, but Steven struggling to see past their friendship.

And it wouldn't be a MAFSAU dinner party without other contestants taking it upon themselves to weigh in on other couple's struggles. Rachel and Steven's challenges with intimacy ending up crudely commented on, prompting Rachel to break down into tears. Thankfully, Steven valiantly came to her side to defend his partner, the incident ultimately bringing the couple closer together.

Despite questions surrounding whether their strong friendship would ever turn into something more, the pair ended the Final Vows episode on a high. They resolved to stay together, Steven stating he was 'falling' for Rachel, the pair resolving to 'choose' each other and 'dive' into growing their relationship further.

But did they end up putting their vows into practice?

Well, despite ending the experiment strongly united, sadly the pair aren't romantically linked anymore. And Rachel didn't hold back when detailing her version of events to The Daily Mail.

Rachel claimed the pair had discussed Steven coming to Melbourne from his home in Sydney in a bid to try and make a relationship work on the outside. However, she alleges "there was always an excuse and a reason not to come".

Not only this, but Rachel claims Steven even "listed the reasons why he couldn't come" and "they were all to do" with her.

"That really took me by surprise. I should have been the reason you'd want to run to Melbourne," she reflected.

Debating whether or not she should make the trip to see Steven in Sydney instead, Rachel resolved she shouldn't "always" be "the one running to him".

And Rachel claimed Steven told her: "I don't think I can be the man that Rachel wants me to be."

Though Steven has since spoken out too.

In an interview with Chattr, Steven called any claims he "ghosted" Rachel following their departure from the experiment "bull c**p".

Acknowledging "a lot of rumours" have been stirring about what happened between them, Steven argued he doesn't "think anyone has gotten" the full and accurate story, urging the reunion "will spill the truth".

Steven added he thinks the reunion could end up being "confusing" for viewers, but he "hopes" "as much" of it is shown as "they can" and viewers can "try to figure it out".

If you're based in Australia you're in luck, the reunion set to air on 13 April on Channel 9. If like us you're stuck in the UK, you'll just have to hang on in there - or book a flight and get yourself over there, we certainly wouldn't blame you.

Married at First Sight Australia is available on E4 and Channel 4 now.

Cosmopolitan UK has reached out to representatives of Steven for comment.
