Unless you’ve been living under a rock this weekend, you will have seen THOSE holiday pics of Love Island’s Samie and Tyrique – confirming there’s nothing secret about this relationship anymore.
After lots of speculation, the couple have fully confirmed their romance with a hard launch on Instagram (pics of their romantic trip together in Morocco) – barely a month after Samie won Love Island All Stars with Ciaran Davies.
But what you might’ve missed is the livestream of Tyrique on Joe Bagg’s podcast Not My Bagg, last night (6 April) where he revealed more juicy details about Samie and Ciaran’s split, and his and Samie’s full dating timeline.
Read on to find out all the insane things Tyrique said about their relationship, including telling fans to “pick a better winner” next time…
Tyrique and Samie’s full relationship timeline
Sometime around 2020 - the pair meet for the first time
While appearing on Not My Bagg, Tyrique explained he and Samie have actually known each other for around six years – that’s BEFORE either of them appeared on Love Island, where they both got into long-term relationships. They met at a Boohoo event, which Tyrique was attending with his friend Toby Aromolaran, from Love Island series seven. Ty explained that he “got her Instagram”, but nothing came of it at the time.
January and June 2022 - the pair both go on Love Island
Tyrique recalls seeing Samie on TV for her Love Island appearance in 2022.
Samie was on the Winter Love Island, season nine, and ended up finishing in third-place with Tom Clare. That year, Tyrique went on the summer series, and came out of the villa in a relationship with Ella Thomas (his first ever girlfriend).
February 2024 - Tyrique expresses interest in Samie after break-up
After a tumultuous on-again off-again relationship, Tyrique and Ella split up for good. Ty explained to Joe Baggs that once he was single, his interest in Samie was revived. “Samie Elishi was always in my head”, he said.
December 2025 - Tyrique says he would pursue things with Samie
In December last year, Tyrique publicly said on GK Barry's podcast Saving Grace Samie is the girl he would pursue from the show if he had the chance.
He has since revealed that around this time (before Samie appeared on All Stars) he was “trying” to make a move. However, Samie shut it down, saying “You’re not serious” to Ty’s attempts.
He confirmed last night (6 April) they were NOT speaking before the show.
February 2026 – Love Island All Stars takes place
After Love Island All Stars kicked off on 15th January, Ty continued to make his feelings for Samie publicly known. On a livestream with Shaq, he said “I rate Samie you know”.
These comments came just a few weeks before the Love Island All Stars final, which Samie ended up winning with Ciaran. The pair were extremely well-liked, having received 35 per cent of the public vote – significantly more than runners up Millie and Zac, with 23 per cent.
Days after the final – Tyrique “shoots his shot”
Tyrique explained that he had “heard murmurs” that Samie and Ciaran were on the rocks just days after the final.
He decided, “I’m gonna shoot my shot” , and sent flowers to Samie’s house, having got her address from a friend.
Ciaran previously confirmed that this happened WHILE he and Samie were still seeing each other…
15 March - Samie and Ciaran break-up
In mid-march that shock news hit that Samie and Ciaran had broken up just 3 weeks after the final – much to the dismay of fans that voted for them. Ty explained that he immediately spoke to Samie, asking her explicitly about the situation. He explained that as soon as she confirmed, “I’ve ended it”, he responded: “Aight cool, game on then"...
4 April - Hard launch on Instagram
Over the past few days, Samie and Tyrique’s romantic getaway to Morocco has had fans spiraling, as their pair confirmed their relationship with brazen posts on socials.
The pictures and videos have prompted a LOT of fan reactions – including speculation as to how the pair have suddenly ended up together.
But they seem so unbothered...and in a total love bubble!
6 April- Tyrique addresses their relationship and fan reactions
It’s no surprise that this relationship has shocked fans who were rooting for Samie and Ciaran. Tyrique addressed the backlash from fans while on Joe Baggs' podcast, saying: “You lot voting for them to win, hold the L.”
“They didn’t even get much screen time anyway…next time pick a better winner”, he added.
And while he admitted that the circumstances were “disrespectful” to Ciaran (and that his mum disapproves of it) he said: “I don’t know him…the game is kinda the game.”
Responding to those who claim they are “just doing this for clout”, or asking if their relationship is PR, he said: “Samie’s not even fully liked by the public. If I wanted to do it for clout or PR surely I’d go for someone that I know is very well liked.
“I don’t need to be in a PR relationship”, he said.
We are SO intrigued as to how this will pan out, and patiently waiting for the full podcast episode to drop…
