If you've been missing a heart-racing reality show since The Traitors finished in January, we may have just the replacement show for you. Full of deception, betrayal and tough challenges The Hunt: Prey vs Predator is arriving on our screens on Channel 4 and this is everything you need to know about the 10 cast members taking part.
The new reality competition series sees the 10 contestants compete in a test of strength and stamina in order to win £100,000. Set in a remote forest, the players are divided into 'prey' and 'predators'. During their challenges the prey must search for cash, while the predators hunt down their prey until there's just one player remaining. Um, is anyone else getting Hunger Games vibes?
The contestants competing on the show range from ages 22 to 70, and come from across the UK and do a variety of jobs. But who will walk away with the £100,000 prize fund? Here's everything you know about the cast, including our verdict on who will do well.
Meet the cast of The Hunt: Prey Vs Predator
Ameer
Age: 28
From: South Wales
Job: Welsh language campaigner
Why did they want to take part in the show?: " I love putting myself in new environments and stepping outside my comfort zone. My whole life has been about trusting my instincts, evaluating risks and taking opportunities. Every challenge I’ve taken on has shaped who I am today, so this felt like the perfect test to see how I’d adapt in a completely different setting. I consider myself quite a capable person, so I'd like to prove to myself and other people that I am who I say I am."
Our verdict: As a self-confessed "lone wolf" and "analytical" these two qualities could work well for Ameer to get far in the competition.
Charlotte
Age: 27
From: Cambridgeshire
Job: Full time mum
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "For the experience and to be totally out my comfort zone. I also wouldn't mind winning some money because I've got two kids."
Our verdict: Charlotte is ex-military so we wouldn't be surprised if she's got some expert training she can put to use in order to evade being hunted.
Chloe
Age: 27
From: Essex
Job: Logistics co-ordinator
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "It sounds like so much fun, who didn't love hide and seek when they were a kid? I can't believe I’m sitting here about to start playing, I can't wait to see what’s in store."
Our verdict: Chloe has said she doesn't take life too seriously and thinks she'll bring "fun" to the game, while that will definitely be entertaining in the early episodes, we're not sure how far it will take her in the contest.
Chris
Age: 31
From: London
Job: Marketing Director
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "It’s an amazing opportunity for a chance to win £100,000. And when else do you have an opportunity like this to play an incredible game and adventure? I'm all over it."
Our verdict: Chris has said he's a super competitive person, so with this in mind we think he's likely to go far, especially if he puts his persuasive marketing skills to good use.
Marc
Age: 34
From: Sunderland
Job: Prison officer
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "This is going to be a real challenge for me. I've always stayed in my own box, and I've always had a lot of support around us. Being autistic, it's going to be really difficult, and I need to push myself. I've got a son that's autistic as well, and when I was growing up, I didn't have anybody that I could look up to that was autistic too.
"I didn't really understand what it meant, and I don't want my son to grow up thinking that he can't do anything because he's autistic. So, by me doing this, I'm hoping to prove to him that he can do what he wants as well. He just sees the world a little bit differently. But it doesn't mean to say that he can't do things like this, which is what I thought for a long time."
Our verdict: As a prison officer Marc has revealed he has experience having to think on his feet and know what others are doing ahead of time, a skill that's sure to stand him in good stead going into the show.
Mel
Age: 35
From: London
Job: School attendance officer
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "I really want to test my mental and physical strength. I saw the description of the game and I was all over it, it’s a bit of me."
Our verdict: Mel has said her game plan for the show is to be her friendly self and make an alliance, which we reckon will work well, but only up to the final rounds, when it's likely all friendship are going to be abandoned.
Mia
Age: 22
From: Leeds
Job: Beauty and lifestyle influencer
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "I want to show that girls can do anything and I want a little detox away from normal life, because my life is very hectic. I want to challenge myself, challenge my strength and resilience."
Our verdict: Like Mel, Mia is relying on her strong personality and positive attitude to get her through the show, which will likely help in teh first few episodes but potentially be a disadvantage as the show goes on.
Nathan
Age: 33
From: Bolton
Job: Dentist
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "I really want to do this to prove to myself that I can. I've got a condition called FND [Functional Neurological Disorder], which means that I have seizures and I also get weakness in my left-hand side, so it’s a personal challenge to see whether I can still get up and run around a forest."
Our verdict: Nathan is ex-military like Charlotte which we think will stand him in good stead for the show.
Roy
Age: 50
From: Tyrone
Job: Environmental attendance officer
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "I really love strategic social reality games and have always wanted to have a go. So here I am."
Our verdict: Roy has been a forester for most of his life and so he'll be comfortable navigating the vast woods the group are hunting each other in.
Shelley
Age: 70
From: London
Job: Retired model
Why did they want to take part in the show?: "I think in life when opportunities are given to you, you should grab them, because life is not a rehearsal and we only get one shot at it."
Our verdict: Don't underestimate Shelley, she's good at making alliances, will use her charm to make connections, oh and she said she's good at hiding. Too soon to call her our winner?
The Hunt: Prey vs Predator starts tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm
