If you find yourself screaming at the TV during every Round Table on this season of The Traitors, then you're not alone. Loads of viewers (us included) are absolutely baffled by the choices being made by the Faithfuls night after night.
"This group of Faithfuls don't deserve to win at all," one viewer said on X. "They're completely clueless half the time, aren't acknowledging things that are completely obvious, and are just like sheep following each other's incorrect theories."
"I'm just getting more and more annoyed!" agreed someone else. "The Faithfuls are completely useless; they aren't learning or picking up on anything. They don't deserve to win!"
A third viewer simply said, "I think that this is the worst group of Faithfuls ever."
Be that as it may, some viewers don't think the Traitors have played a great game either. "Everyone on it is a bit useless," one person said. "The Traitors have slipped up on so many occasions. They don't even deserve to win. Says a lot about the Faithfuls, though."
With the finale of The Traitors fast approaching, is it possible for the Faithfuls to win the game at this point? Let's take a look at all the mistakes they've made so far... and hope they start to learn from them ASAP.
All the mistakes the Faithfuls have made this season
Not suspecting Rachel after Fiona's accusations
Okay, granted, Fiona was a Traitor as well, but the total lack of suspicion on Rachel after Fiona went after her so strongly needs to be studied. The only person who twigged this might have been a Traitor on Traitor situation was Harriet, which brings us on to...
Not suspecting Rachel (again!) after Harriet's accusations
Just days after Fiona went in on Rachel, Harriet took a swipe at her, too. But, despite putting forward some pretty convincing evidence and going full barrister mode at the breakfast table, Harriet was the one who ended up banished.
While some viewers suggested on socials that Harriet had done 'too much' in her accusations, others couldn't believe that, once again, Rachel walked away completely unscathed. At this point, we can't help but wonder: Does Rachel have all the Faithfuls under some kind of spell?
Ignoring all of Jessie's bang-on theories
Some Faithfuls have managed to identify a Traitor at one point or another this season, but there's only one who has been completely on the money with her suspicions: Jessie. The hairstylist from Hull has been doing some of the best detective work we've seen on the show, and her theories (like the 'Library Five') have helped her suss out both Fiona and Stephen. Yet, when it comes to the Round Tables, Jessie's theories are often overlooked by her fellow Faithfuls.
"If they listened to Jessie, they'd basically be sorted by now," someone said on X. "At this point, Jessie is the only Faithful who deserves to be there at the end," added another viewer, while a third agreed: "Jessie's literally the only person on this cast who is making any sense."
"The way Jessie had such clear evidence and is so spot on, and nobody is listening to her, is so difficult to watch," said another viewer.
Justice for Jessie!
Banishing actual Traitor-accusers
There seems to be a repeating pattern this year at the Round Tables. When a Faithful correctly identifies a Traitor at the Round Table, they end up getting banished themselves. Some viewers have argued on social media that this is a classic case of herd mentality, while others have suggested it's all to do with popularity of individual players.
"The Traitors is a perfect example of modern-day society by showcasing that not a single one of the Faithfuls has a unique thought and follows what the loudest person says," one person said, adding: "Yet when a counterargument is made against someone they like (Rachel), they immediately banish the accuser."
"It's a popularity contest," agreed someone else. "They like Rachel, so they won't hear a bad word said against her. No attempt to find a Traitor."
Suspecting Faithfuls for acting... like a Faithful
Another fatal error being made by this season's Faithfuls is their repeated accusations of other Faithfuls who are behaving exactly like, well, Faithfuls. Take James and the whole shield drama, for example.
To recap, James – who was scared of being murdered and, rightfully, realised this is a game of self-preservation – took a cheeky shield in Wednesday's mission. When this came to light, however, his fellow Faithfuls accused him of being a Traitor. But why would a Faithful sneakily steal a shield?
"Watch them waste a banishment on James because he took a shield and lied about it, so he must be a Traitor," someone said on X. "This makes no sense," they added. "If anything, being that desperate for a shield is 100% Faithful behaviour!"
"If James was a Traitor, [why] would he go get a shield and keep it quiet??? What benefit would that give him as a Traitor??" another viewer argued.
Sigh!
The Traitors continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 8pm.
