Are you ready for your next reality TV obsession? Well buckle in as Netflix just dropped the full season of the new Temptation Island, but who is series' host Mark L. Walberg? We've got all the deets you need to know.
In case you haven't begun the binge-watch session yet, Temptation Island is an American series that first began in 2001 on Fox and sees four couples head to an Island where they are separated and move into new villas where they live with a bunch of tempting singles. After moving in together, and seeing if they can face temptation they'll then decide at the end of two weeks if they want to carry on in their relationship or break up and move on with someone new.
The show ran for three seasons before being cancelled in 2003. It was then brought back on USA Network in 2019 and went on for another four years, ending in 2023, before it was announced the show would be moving to Netflix.
Mark L. Walberg has been hosting the show since the beginning, so who is he? Here's what to know.
Who is Mark L. Walberg?
Mark, 62, is a television presenter and actor best know for presenting Temptation Island, the American version of Antiques Roadshow, Russian Roulette and The Moment of Truth.
His first television appearance was in 1991 where he was the co-host of the show Shop 'til You Drop and he's been a mainstay on American television ever since.
Mark is married to actress Robbi Morgan and the couple have been together for over 30 years and have two children together.
Throughout Temptation Island he seems to give really good advice, but he's not actually a trained therapist. Back in 2021 Mark spoke about his role on the show with TVInsider and where his advice comes from.
"I’m a game show host. I’m not a therapist. But I am a husband, a father, a son and all these things. The only thing I can bring to this is I’ve failed more than they’ve tried, so maybe I can help,” he told the publication.
Well, qualified or not, we're so here for Mark's sage wisdom.
Is Mark L. Walberg related to Mark Wahlberg?
Despite the similar names, there is no relation between the host of Temptation Island and the Ted actor.
In fact, Mark L. Walberg in jokes about it on his Instagram bio, writing: "The TV host- not the actor with the hamburgers" just to clear up any confusion.
Temptation Island is available on Netflix now
