MAFS Australia is finally back for another season and honestly, we couldn't be happier about it. We're only a few episodes in and there's already been drama (see: unruly wedding guests and one couple headed for quitsville), so we can't wait to see how the rest of the series unfolds.
So far, we've seen a handful of couples tie the knot, including Lauren Hall and Eliot Donovan (more on the current state of their relationship here). And, speaking of Lauren, it turns out she actually dated a groom from last year's season: Jono McCullough.
To recap, Jono was paired with Lauren Dunn (what are the chances she shares the same name as his ex!?) but the couple did not have a smooth ride. After several clashes between the two, the pair decided to call off their relationship and it was later revealed that Jono had been texting another bride – Ellie Dix – behind Lauren's back.
In a series twist, Jono and Ellie coupled up once their spouses (Lauren and Ben Walters) left the experiment, and they're actually still together. In fact, the pair have bought a home together on the Gold Coast and they've started a business.
With that in mind, it seems Jono has had entanglements with several MAFS Australia brides. His initial bride Lauren, new beau Ellie and this year's Lauren.
According to reports, this season's Lauren and last season's Jono dated for three months before calling things off in January 2023. They'd been acquaintances for over a decade, but decided to try things romantically when things "fizzled up" in their friendship. That didn't last long, however, and according to MailOnline they split amicably after realising they're "too different".
As for whether MAFS Australia producers knew about Lauren's links with a former contestant, a source told the MailOnline they were well aware of this. "Production was hoping to quietly sweep it under the rug, but word got around that she was appearing on the show and they knew each other," they claimed.
Tbf, when it comes to reality TV, nothing stays secret for long...
