We reckon Miley Cyrus should seriously consider a second career dishing out dating advice because her relationship history is LIT. As well as being married to Liam Hemsworth, the singer has dated the likes of Nick Jonas, Stella Maxwell and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Maxx Morando April 2022 -
Miley and her new beau, drummer Maxx Morando were spotted sharing a cheeky kiss and cuddle in West Hollywood on the 14th April (via E! News). The couple looked *very* into each other, with Miley sporting a black halter-neck midi dress and Maxx looking cool and casual in a yellow stripy top and white jeans as they embraced in the LA sunshine.
The pair have been together for some time now, with them making their debut public appearance at Gucci's runway show back in November 2021. These rumours were then confirmed after they were spotted kissing at Miley's New Year's Eve Party in Miami, which she hosted with Kim Kardashian's boyfriend and Miley's friend Pete Davidson.

Nick Jonas - 2006 - 2007
Miley and Nick were just teens when they started dating in 2006 through their Disney Channel connection. According to Nick’s brothers Joe and Kevin, the singer was absolutely besotted with Miley and their relationship inspired the Jonas Brothers song 'Lovebug'. "When he met Miley, I think that kid's head exploded," Kevin later said, which we think is a good thing?
Justin Gaston - 2008–2009
The pair are thought to have met after model and actor Justin appeared on a show that was being co-hosted by Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley, who was 15 when they met, and Justin, who was 20, dated for nine months. It’s not entirely clear why they split though it was widely rumoured her rekindled friendship with old flame Nick played a part. Either way, the singer then went to Georgia to film The Last Song and we all know what happened next.
Liam Hemsworth - 2009–2013
Bear with us because this is kind of a complicated one. Everyone knows Liam and Miley’s love story started in 2009 when they met on set. In August, just after filming on The Last Song wrapped, they’re spotted kissing in Nashville airport. However, it’s not until March 2010 when they make their red carpet debut at an Oscars event that they finally confirm they’re the real deal. In August 2010, they end up splitting but soon rekindle things but then break up again in November.
But by April of 2012 they’re back together and in June 2012 Liam proposed with a 3.5-carat diamond ring. "Heaven is a place on earth," Miley sweetly tweeted a day after the proposal. But the following March the pair are hit with spiralling break up rumours. The split is official in September 2013. It’s so official, Miley unfollowed Liam on Twitter.
Mike Will Made-It - October 2013
According to reports, Miley was secretly dating the music producer who worked on her 'Bangerz' album for months. Rumours first started to swirl about the pair when Miley and Mike Will Made-It - whose real name is Michael Len Williams II - were said to be looking all kinds of cosy at her album release party in New York in October 2013.
Kellan Lutz - December 2013
Speculation surrounding the singer and Twilight actor dating went into overdrive after they were pictured partying and kissing in Las Vegas. However, Kellan later insisted they were nothing more than pals. "I've been friends with Miley for like six years. She's a great girl. I love hanging out with [her]," he told Ryan Seacrest. "She's super talented. She's a really cool, secure woman. We run in the same circle."
Jared Leto - February 2014
It was claimed Miley and Jared’s brief romance started when they met at a pre-Grammys party in January 2014. "They like to have a good time, they love to talk about art and music – and they're both comfortable with nudity!" a source told Us Weekly at the time. Though seeing as most of us like to have a good time, we’re not sure how reliable that source was and neither Miley or the Suicide Squad star have ever addressed the rumours.
Patrick Schwarzenegger - November 2014
Following her (first) split from Liam, Miley briefly dated Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s son. The pair's public debut came when they were spotted looking very cosy at an American football game at Patrick’s college.
But this relationship wasn’t meant to be and the pair split in March 2015. Incidentally, the split came a few weeks after Patrick was spotted partying with a girl in Mexico who wasn’t Miley. Whether the split had anything to do with Mexico, we’ll probably never know but Patrick did tweet at the time: "Omg. It's one of my best friends girlfriend… Would NEVER do anything against my GF....."
Stella Maxwell - July 2015
Victoria’s Secret model Stella told V magazine that she met Miley "through mutual friends via Instagram", which seems like how everyone’s meeting these days (takes notes). The pair dated for a few months and made headlines when they were snapped kissing on the set of Miley’s music video in Los Angeles.
On 15 July, they enjoyed a date at Disneyland, but the following month she told Elle magazine she’s dating but single. "I’m very open about it — I’m pansexual. But I’m not in a relationship. I’m 22, I’m going on dates, but I change my style every two weeks, let alone who I’m with." Oh, she also told the mag: "Me and Liam are still so close and we love each other.”
Liam Hemsworth 2016 - 2019
Fast forward six months and Miley has flown to Australia where she and Liam are spotted at a festival. In May, Liam all but confirms they’re back together telling GQ: "People will figure it out, they already have … They’re not dumb." After getting a Vegemite tattoo on her arm (Liam’s favourite), the pair then get engaged (again) in October 2016. Most of 2017 was spent keeping everyone guessing about their wedding plans until they eventually tied the knot in December 2018.
But just eight months later Miley and Liam fans were left heartbroken when the 'The Climb' star was spotted kissing Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter. At the same time, sources told People magazine the pair’s relationship is over. Liam eventually confirmed the split on Instagram and wished Miley "nothing but health and happiness going forward". Later that month, the actor officially filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences".
Kaitlynn Carter - August - September 2019
Taking literally everyone by surprise, Miley and Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitlynn’s whirlwind romance became public knowledge in August when they were spotted kissing on a yacht in Lake Como. The pair then returned home to Los Angeles where they were spotted out and about looking just as into each other, but by September Miley had broken things off. According to sources, it was because the singer "didn't want anything serious".
Cody Simpson October 2019 -
Just weeks after her relationship with Kaitlynn cooled off, Miley was linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson, who described her as his "childhood celebrity crush" back in 2012. The pair’s relationship got serious pretty quickly and for Halloween they dressed up as rocker Billy Idol and his long-term partner Perri Lister and posted six Instagram grid pictures in less than 24 hours. They also appeared to have a message for any doubters as their jackets spelled out "4 Ever". The latest? Miley took Cody home to Nashville to hang out with her parents and sister Noah.
