SPOILER ALERT! Game Of Thrones season 8 episode 3 spoilers ahead...
The latest episode of Game Of Thrones may have aired a good few days ago now, but we’re still obsessed. I mean, how could we not be after THAT Night King and Arya moment? We are of course talking about the youngest Stark girl launching herself at the Night King and ending him and his undead army like an absolute champ.
Speaking about that incredible scene, the Night King himself, actor and stuntman Vladimír Furdík (who is a babe IRL, btw), has explained why he was surprised that it ended up being Arya that brought him down.
He told Bustle, “I was actually surprised. This small lady, she’s going to kill me? Why not Jon Snow? Why not a fight between Jon Snow or some other surprise?”
Vlad also thought it would have been cool to have Bran kill him instead.
“I said, ‘Okay, I have a better idea. What about, I will grab you [Arya] and you will throw the knife to Bran and he will throw the knife at me in my back or something?’”
But, seeing as it’s not actually his job to write the script or direct the show, that idea got respectfully thrown out.
He did make a great point about why he never actually fought Jon Snow: King Of The North, despite desperately wanting to.
He pointed out that “in history, everywhere, kings never fight. I am a king, I have bodyguards. If I need to kill Jon Snow, there are 10 or 12 other White Walkers who can fight him.”
Saying that, we all know Jon loves a good battle, so maybe he’s not playing by that rule so much after all…
