We've all been there… it's 10am on a Monday, 2pm on a Friday or, in fact, 4pm any day of the week and all you want to do is nap. But, because of the whole business of nine to fives, our chances of catching those midday forty winks are slim. Until now…
Some absolute genius has invented a nap desk which is professional, business-like and bossing-it above, and cosy, comfy and sleep-inducing below.
It's been created by a Greek company called Studio NL and it looks incredible – the side panel of the desk even hinges out to create a perfectly angled head rest.
And, when someone is lying underneath having a nap, the top desk section can be slid out so that someone can continue to use the desk to work at the same time. Talk about efficient.
It's called, rather techily, the '1.6 S.M. of Life' which we would like to take upon ourselves to abbreviate to the 'Furniture of Life' (#copyright).
In an interview with Archilovers, the designers said, 'The main concept was to comment on the fact that many times our lives are 'shrinking' in order to fit into the confined space of our office.'
'This desk could be used for a siesta or for a few hours of sleep at night on those days when someone struggles to meet deadlines.'
But what if you feel a bit self-conscious napping in front of your colleagues? What if you dribble, snore or umm, fart, in your sleep?
Well, not to worry about that either because the desk has optional walls which can be slid up to create privacy.
That's all the dream desk boxes ticked, except one – that of your boss on the petition you'll start first thing tomorrow to have these desks installed immediately, which will have 100 signatures by 10am.
Sweet office dreams, one and all!
