Mmmmmm, cookie dough *instant drool*.
But mmmmm no longer as new government research has just hit us with a heath news punch in the face that will turn beloved cookie dough from best friend on a hangover to forbidden fruits every day of the week.
We're sorry to break it to you but it turns out that raw cookie dough comes with a number of health risks. And surprisingly, the main concern is not the raw eggs, it the flour.
The FDA Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating a number of E.coli issues which are believed to stem from a particular type of flour that can be found in raw cookie dough.
The mill where this flour was made has had to recall 10 million pounds of it before it could infect anymore sweet treats. Luckily for us, the mill is in Kansas City, Missouri *wipes brow*, and their flour isn't in mainstream circulation in the UK.
Howwwwwwever… it's still important to note that raw food can contain lots of bacteria that can cause stomach cramps, diarrhea and some more serious health issues.
The solution? Cooking the cookie dough in the oven will heat it through enough to kill any potentially harmful bacteria.
Then, whilst it's still hot, pile on the ice-cream, chocolate source, strawberries, peanut butter, hundreds and thousands, whipped cream, Nutella, bananas. Basically, all the things. That doesn't sound too bad, does it?
Basically, it's all one big cookie...
