We all know that cleaning our makeup brushes is the actual worst. It's the job you put off for weeks and weeks and weeks, before finally relenting at 7pm on a Sunday and cursing yourself come Monday morning when you have no dry brushes to use.

To try and make the job a little more bearable, I've invested in everything from cleaning mitts, to brush soap, but according to Mrs Hinch (Sophie Hinchcliffe) the one thing we actually need is potentially already in our kitchens.

While I'm not the biggest fan of 'Hinching' due to my innate laziness when it comes to domestic chores, I do love Sophie's beauty cleaning tips.

From her game-changing beauty blender hack, to deep-cleaning your hairbrushes, she makes the tasks I dread, that bit easier.

In one of her recent Instagram stories, Sophie shared the one tool she swears by for cleaning her makeup brushes as opposed to those pricey mitts I previously mentioned, Sophie's recommendation costs just £4.

Using just her regular hair shampoo, Sophie sticks a Scrub Daddy sponge to the side of her sink and scrubs her brush on the surface.

The abrasiveness of the sponge makes it far easier to break down the oil and pigments in your brushes, meaning you won't get pruney fingers standing at the sink for half an hour.

Maybe if I buy two it will make me want to do the washing up for once...

Maybe not.
