I have a confession to make. While I love Fashion Week (or fashion month, really) for its runway beauty looks to pinpoint the beauty trends that are going to dictate over the coming months, I really love watching the street style. I adore seeing what the insiders of the industry are wearing right now and taking style inspo from them. And after pawing through the street style snaps of New York and London fashion week I can tell you haircuts are so back. I've seen long bobs, short, blunt bobs, pixie cuts and more recently bixie cuts styled effortlessly with a natural curl. I'm obsessed.
The bixie curl as I've nicknamed it, is a tapered long bixie that embraces your natural texture. Some wear it longer at the sides to give the shape more of bob but still tapered at the nape of the neck so it's very much still a pixie cut, and I've seen others go for more of a short back and sides look with full tousled curls atop of their crown. Either way it is stunning, and a look that genuinely works for all face shapes and curl types, whether you are wavy, curly or coily.
How to style a bixie curl
The best thing about this cut is that it embraces and enhances you're natural texture. For wavy hair types, scrunching in a light wave spray will hold your texture without flattening your shape.
For curls, depending on your hair thickness you might want to opt for a foam or a gel for the adequate level of hold for you.
For coils, definition is key to separate this from a 'fro to a curl cut. Use a clever cocktail or curl gel and cream and finger coil your strands to frame your face.
