Ask any millennial about the 1990s and they’ll argue until the end of time that it was the decade of all decades (cue the generation wars). BUT before you do, you may want to peek at Kourtney Kardashian’s latest Instagram which really does prove how iconic the ’90s era was. Not a joke, just a fact.
This weekend, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star took to social media and posted a throwback to trump all throwbacks. Captioned “1997 Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas”, Kourt has taken us back to her college days with long dark hair, a little black dress, and the beauty trend of the time: pencil-thin eyebrows.
There’s no denying that our favourite celebs lead the trends which inform the way we look, and back in ’97 (when girl culture reigned supreme), icons like Britney Spears, The Spice Girls and Kate Moss had a stronghold on beauty culture. I mean… they even managed to make barely-there brows trendy. Even the Poosh founder had to represent. Such a serve.
However, it’s not the brows that have fans all saying the same thing.
Commenting under the post one follower said: “You haven’t aged AT ALL 😍”
Another added: “I thought it was from today your not change 😍”
Everyone's clicking on...
One fan commented: “Man I thought that was a recent picture 😍 The best Kardashian out there”
Another said: “You literally look the same! 😍”
Even makeup artist and friend, Mary Phillips, commented: “You’re the same”.
Pencil in a few brow hairs to ’97 Kourtney, and there you’ll have the 2022 mum-of-three. And with terms aplenty dividing the generations, boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, millennials, Gen Z, what we can all unite on is vowing to never pluck our brows as much again. Please.
