Don't panic, but Taylor Swift just brought backcombed hair back

There's a saying that goes a little something like "someone who changes their hair is about to change their life". And I don't know about you, but I feel like that catchphrase is particularly applicable when it comes to Taylor Swift.

Taylor's been known to opt for pretty drastic hair switch-ups in a way that seems to underpin album launches and world tours, and after a busy year of dropping surprise albums and winning awards, it makes sense that she'd have made her way through quite the hairstyle carousel.

This year we've seen Taylor try a balayage shag and blunt fringe, we've seen a glossy shag and blow-dried fringe, we've seen mermaid hair and cowgirl hair, a mini fringe, a curly fringe, and even a return to 2000s style poker straight hair. She hasn't done it all, but she's done, well, a lot. She even seems to be going brunette at the moment, but that's another story all together.

Anyway, she's just posted a new gallery of snaps to Instagram in which her blonde hair looks... and stay with me here... backcombed? And I don't know about you, but I'm getting serious X Factor 2008 flashbacks. Scroll down to check it out for yourself.
