When it comes to the Kardashian/Jenners, Kourtney isn't the first one I'd go to if I was in need of makeup help.

No shade to her of course, but after sitting in Mario Dedivanovic's chair for 11 years I'm going straight to Kim, and if she's busy I'm hitting up Kylie who is as obsessed with makeup as I am.

But recently I have been thinking about Kourtney (not in a creepy way), but just in the way that every time she pops on my Instagram I think how glowing and effortless she looks.

Which naturally leads me to an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians where I further admire her ability to wear a bright orange tracksuit with a slicked back and not look like she's just popping to the corner shop.

That's Kourtney's thing - understated glam - and after how ever many months of wearing zero makeup, that's exactly what I want.

I love my products too much to give them up, but rather than going for full on Kardashian confidential glam, I want to go down Kourtney's 'no makeup, makeup' route, and thankfully she just shared how.

In a post on her website, Poosh, Kourtney revealed her latest 'beauty secrets' including her makeup artist's technique for ensuring she get's a natural, yet flawless looking base.

The first step involves having Patrick Ta as your makeup artist, which of course is easier said than done, but even without a master MUA, we can still use Patrick's technique.

You see the trick to Kourtney's base is all in his 'brush-blend-press-fluff-blend-spray technique' and it's a method we're deploying immediately.

First Patrick applies Kourtney's favourite foundation (Oxygenetix Acne Control Oxygenating Foundation) with a dense brush directly after skincare, "to ensure the skin is fresh and dewy", explains Patrick.

Then, and this is the key so listen up, he goes over he base again but this time with a damp BeautyBlender and this is what gives "a nice, natural finish," according to Patrick.

For her concealer, Patrick uses both a fluffy blending brush as well as BeautyBlender for a seamless finish. He then uses a loose powder to eliminate shine in certain areas, before spritzing the entire face with a light, hydrating mist, "to give a naturally luminous finish."

Now all I need to work on is my slicked back bun...
