First off, we do not advise that people use lemons to lighten their hair, they are acidic and can cause damage to the hair or even burns. Trust us when we say, there are much kinder and safer ways to do it (i.e. using an actual product - you'll find some great ones in our gallery below).
But that hasn't stopped Lana Del Rey, usually known for having brunette locks as silky as her singing voice. Yep, it appears Lana Del Rey has joined the tribe of celebrities going for drastic hair transformations during lockdown.
Going lighter is definitely up there with the most popular quarantine trends; what with Kylie Jenner's chunky highlights, Kaia Gerber's brush with the bathroom bleach, and the whole TikTok Purple Shampoo Challenge taking off again.
We get it, people are bored and staring at themselves on Zoom chats for too long, plus nothing gets the endorphins going like a little re-invention.
But whilst we're not here for using lemons to lighten your hair, that's exactly what Lana just admitted to doing recently after posting a natural selfie sporting a very different hair look...
The Summertime Sadness singer showed off an effortless updo alongside the caption: "When you have no choice but to go back to being a blonde because Kevin Tracey and Jacob are gone and there’s nothing but lemons left to cover your roots for nine weeks."
Fans clearly loved the look, complimenting Lana on her natural beauty. American Pie actress Mena Suvari even commented: "I see you’ve captured your real self in this photo: the beautiful little angel cherub being kissed ✨✨✨"
If you fancy lightening your strands, let us point you in the direction of some of the very best products to try... (None of which can be found in your fruit bowl, soz).
