Cottagecore dresses are having a moment in pop culture again, and this time, it has nothing to do with Bridgerton. Olivia Rodrigo looked drop dead gorgeous in the music video for her first single off You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love (which comes out June 12th). Watching Rodrigo pirouette through the halls of Versailles in a Marie Antoinette-coded Chloe ensemble, I can’t deny she had me scouring the internet for vintage babydoll dresses to add to my own spring wardrobe.

“Drop Dead” isn’t the first time we’ve seen Rodrigo lean into the Rococo aesthetic. Leading up to her third studio album, the singer has traded in the punk graphic tees and sequin mini skirts of her Guts days for softer, more romantic silhouettes. Ahead, we’re breaking down some of our favorite outfits from the YSPSFAGSIL era (try saying that 10 times fast), and showing you how to recreate the look.

The Marie Antoinette-Coded Set

One thing I’m adding to my bucket list? Dancing around Versailles in my underwear. To make this lingerie-inspired look a little more wearable, I recommend opting for a babydoll-style mini dress and layering it over a pair of lace bloomers. And the cherry on top? You can shop Rodrigo’s exact pair of HUE knit tights on Amazon—hers were custom-cropped at the thigh, but that’s nothing some scissors and a little creativity can’t fix.

The Disco-Era Mini

Fun fact: For the first scene of the “Drop Dead” music video, Rodrigo wore an embellished white mini dress plucked straight out of Jane Birkin’s closet. While this exact vintage Loris Azzaro piece is unattainable for us mere mortals, I found a few lookalikes from Amazon, Zara, and Princess Polly. These 70s-inspired dresses are a breeze to style—just add a pair of knee-high boots for disco-era flair.

The Casual Rockstar

During a surprise guest appearance during Addison Rae’s Coachella set, Rodrigo treated us to the first live performance of “Drop Dead” in a custom R & M Leathers bra and vintage Diesel jeans. This rockstar-off-duty look is one of her easier looks to recreate—simply pair a pink corset top with some low-rise, distressed jeans. And instead of her Louboutin Mary Janes, this Amazon pair will get you a similar look for a literal fraction of the price.

The Prim Peter Pan Collar

Twee is so back, baby! Rodrigo hard-launched her new aesthetic with the official album cover for You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love. The outfit deets include a Peter Pan-collared dress, embroidered boyshorts, and a pair of Kurt Geiger platforms. Her exact pieces are either custom, vintage, or sold-out (sobs!), but you can achieve a similar vibe with a pink mini dress and some heeled Mary Janes (bonus points for adding mid-calf socks).

The Vintage-Inspired Nightgown

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting deja vu from this bonus vinyl cover. This time around, Rodrigo rocks a sheer, floral-printed Anna Sui babydoll dress that gives vintage nightgown in the best way. Although her exact dress isn’t available, I managed to find pieces with similar vibes from brands like Reformation, J. Crew, and Cotton On.
